We've signed Devine cos he's cheap and we haven't got a pot to piss in.

Which is fine if you have plenty of casks ready with some real ales. Sadly we only have lagers, all fizz and no quality

If true, what’s the point in wasting what small remaining budget we have left on a player who is down the pecking order.

Should we sign 1 or 2 central midfielders, he’s still likely to be behind Anderson, Akpan, Wright (and if he ever gets fit), Reeves.

What a complete an utter load of rubbish. Firstly, we have a keeper that fits the rules of an own grown player. I’d rather pick him for the bench than a player who isn’t going to impact a game.

Secondly, “we have players under contract earning not far off 10k a week”???? Do you still believe in Santa and the Toothfairy too?

Would you call AT LEAST £1m to spend on wages, small? - given the squad we currently have? Lincoln, who had the highest wage budget in L2 last season, were paying on average £2.2k per week, per player. Do the maths.

It’s highly likely that McBurnie will be sold and some of our current crop of players will be offloaded somehow. GB is bulking the squad with players who will serve a purpose, in what will be a long season.

Not true Dennis. Don’t we still hold the registration of Sykes-Kenworthy? He deserves to fill the bench and the home grown quota as much as, if not more so, than Devine

How do you know McBurnie will be sold? Or some of our current crop will be offloaded?

Give the lad a chance for god sake, he’ll be playing in a division lower , and with a run in the side that will build his confidence might just bring out the player that we hoped he would be. When he was given his chance by Stuart he got better game by game and was harshly dropped ,which would have knocked his confidence big time, especially when he wasn’t even given a bench spot. He then suffered a few bad injuries which would have knocked his confidence even more, but he was finally given another chance at the end of this season and this would have built up his confidence, and he will be looking forward to pre-season. Danny just might surprise us all and become a big part of our league 2 squad.

Danny Devine is a waste of wages in what is a small competitive budget.

Bradford City never learn and pi@@ about. It's no shock we're in div 2.. none!

How this club is ran is embarrassing!

May have a point but when we have no idea when we get to “reserve judgement” until, it doesn’t help. You’re right that he missed the whole of last season. Actually, he’s been missing for over 18mths....!

Jesus Christ, he is probably fifth choice centre mid and you're whining that he isn't good enough...

    Give it a rest.

If Bowyer were saying he's a 46 game a season player, it might be worth discussing. Are you going to complain if we keep any apprentices too??

I think the players wages budget has been discussed at length and that comment appears a bit ‘wide of the mark’!

Firstly, what the chuff has the impending transfer of McBurnie got to do with your comment? The club have already said that any monies received from his sale would be used to offset the debt caused by last season. Nobody has suggested the windfall would be going into the player budget. Same goes with Wyke for that matter.

Secondly, I will repeat my point. Why spend wages (irrelevant as to how little it is), on a player that has 3-4 midfielders in front of him ALREADY in the pecking order?

Finally, we have around £1m more in the bank to improve this squad. That equates to around £19,230 a week. But realistically that’s only the equivalent of 5 new players earning an average of £3k a week (£3k x 5 x 52wks =£780k). This leaves us around £220k to pay any signing-on fees, agents fees and bonuses. I’m sure you’d agree that £1m doesn’t stretch that far really.
