I don't think his stock will be high enough at the minute after Scunthorpe.

I'd like him to get it, though.

 

Think he will struggle to get a job any where in L1 or above after two sackings after going on losing streaks. I know people will say that one wasn’t his fault but clubs and fans will be looking at his record

 

I quite agree, unfortunately. after a certain amount of time, the circumstances are largely irrelevant, it's just a sacking.

 

If he had done well at Scunthorpe it would have all been forgotten

 

Looks a little like Scunthorpe are as bad as Bradford City for managers/coaches not getting the players to perform, they have had Nicholas Daws, Andy Dowson, Stuart McCall and Andy Dowson again and none can get the winning mentality.

 

It's the mentality of the players that's more important Dave they are pampered protected wannabes who have an unscrupulous but very savvy agent well versed in getting the best for the player and himself It's time the lower league chairman said an emphatic NO to their demands and stick together then the players would have very limited options. We are a prime example (self inflicted I know) of how bad things can get if you are taken in by them.
Every club needs players willing to play for the club as well as the manager we had a team full not too long ago but sadly these days they are a rarity. Maybe it's time the governing bodies showed some initiative and issued a blueprint or a standard contract applicable to ALL players joining a new club maybe then the players would take pride in pulling on the shirt as a professional footballer thus giving clubs a modicum of protection

Mark Ellis reckons we should get Stuart in has head of football and put a structure in place. Lay down foundations and build a proper youth set up.

Pretty sure Stu would prefer to be in a managerial role for now though.

 

Is this the same Mark Ellis who set up some USA thing with us, and we got a crock of shit sent over? Not sure he's entitled to an opinion on the set up of the club Despite being a well liked character and former wing wizard (maybe he should replace Kiwomya on the wireless).
Mind you, what was the name of the American kid we had over on trial, and then released? I am sure he actually went on to become pretty decent. Must have been about 8/10 years ago when we were doing that US thing...
