This is exactly the issue! Listen, I’m 37yrs and like to consider myself young at heart. I mostly travel to away games alone, aside of London games where mates may join. I’ll happily sit and be as loud as possible to cheer and encourage the team, whatever the situation. Even yesterday when there wasn’t a great deal to cheer I thought in the second half a good % did what they could to encourage our flagging side. However what happened at the end with some of our supporters wrestling with stewards trying to get to Oxford fans or onto the pitch, was embarrassing.
(NOTE: not helped by the idiot Oxford youngest ball boy running past our fans celebrating and antagonising them).

But it’s not just the younger supporters and you only have to read social media pages to get a glimpse of the mindset of some of our “supporters”. It’s not the Bradford City I’ve grown up following and wonder where it has come from? There was a women sat behind me yesterday who berated Anderson from the 1st minute. Justified perhaps, he was poor yesterday. But she was relentless and confronting as when Clarke made a mistake she shouted “come on Billy, you know better than that”. Why was Clarke spared her wrath? His past or his public admiration for the club? I’m sick of hearing crap like this at games. The lady sat next to me rightly commented to me “I don’t know why people spend the time and money travelling to simply berate and single out players”. Couldn’t agree more.

Furthermore on Anderson, the confrontation he had after the game by those at the front was disappointing. He had a stinker, he quite clearly recognised that but had the balls to come over and applaud fans who travelled. Why he had to be aggressively shouted at to the point which made him come closer just isn’t called for IMO. All done by those off their heads and seemingly little interest actually “supporting” the club.

    Rant over!

People will watch a winning team regardless of whether they play in the Premiership, Championship, L1, L2, Conference or a Sunday morning Pub team, so those that choose not to buy a season ticket or flexi-card may start dwindling back through the turnstiles, paying a match-day fee and generating regular income. However if it is to be L2 then they have to make sure we have a squad that is capable of delivering results, and early.

YOU have just justified the meaning of Leisure and Pleasure. WHY, oh why, would an individual 'sponsor', with their hard earned, a business or enterprise which delivered less than the alternatives ?

Unbelievable comments from some people Dave, the idea that we could lose thousands of paying fans and that will be in some way more positive is laughable at best. We could realistically have league games next season where the crowds will be well below 10,000 rattling around Valley Parade, down from double that a couple of years ago. make no mistake this club is deep in the shit next season, it could take years to get back up.

In the end it was this element that stopped me getting a season ticket. The whole experience just became a chore.

I hated hearing morons abuse and betate players and managers I actually liked because we were "only" winning 1-0 and and and were "boring". Completely ruined the match day experience and made me realise how much I dislike some of the people involved in our club.

The downturn in the on field performances just added to that but it was definitely the general atmosphere around the club that started my current malaise.

Well for starters the early ST deadline needs scrapping, I know it's there for a reason but only the severe hard core under blind faith are purchasing one especially now. Fans need to see what's in store transfer wise for next season before most (like myself) even consider a flexi never mind a full ST. Yes i understand the club needs the funds in early but it's going to backfire massively, as fans wont pay full price after the deadline.

The likelyhood been closed parts of the ground to try condense the atmosphere and save money. All of which i hate to see at big grounds when less then 50% full.

I don't think yesterday did seal it. Win against Blackpool and you could be just three points off fifth bottom. I'm not writing you off yet. Remarkably the team in twelfth place have just nine more points than the one at the bottom.

I don’t think it lacks truth, I tried to imply that longer term fans were included when I added ‘most’ but fair enough if that wasn’t clear.
At the end of the day, we don’t support this club because we’re glory supporters, it’s 95% slog for those 5% unreal days of Chelsea and the like, through thick and thin. If there are die hards/decade long supporters willing to wash their hands of things then let them get on with it but I don’t expect them to come rushing back when things eventually turn themselves round whenever that may be. I don’t need to tell you this, it’s bread and butter for lower league fans but we’ve had bad times before and we will again, but as supporters we’ve watched us nearly go bust, be relegated before and nearly drop out of the league not that long ago, but we’re still here, I’d hope most would stick around whatever rather than just giving up when we’re in this particular rut.

I think you might find that Julian does exactly that at the end of this season, just hope he has an adequate replacement lined up.

I hope you don’t come back when we get a good cup draw. Or a play off final.

Sunderland and Pompey have sold out the checkatrade trophy final. A fantastic achievement but by some of our fans thinking a day spoilt by plastics. Some of our fan base is weird.

Absolutely. I imagine when we reached the CC final, or the play off finals that our wonderful uber fans didn't bring along their nearest or dearest, whom probably had rarely stepped into Valley Parade ...

What is the up manship about. People have a right to choose.

That logic is typical of the so called uber fan. I'm sorry but my kids no longer want to go to City. I'm supposed to buy a ST despite this fact? As a responsible parent (and foster parent) I will spend quality time with my children whether that is VP, Wembley or anywhere else. Imbecile.

A good reason to buy a season ticket? Threaten the kids with a day out at Valley Parade if they are misbehaved, a sure fire way to stop the kids from playing up.
