The main thing is that he isn't really any good as a CB..could maybe play in midfield but useless in the air...for that reason alone we would be better off with a new CB

 

Our problem with poor defending is we are exposed at the back by silly formations that give no cover and allow crosses to come in to our box at will, Ask most top managers how to set up if struggling and will say the same, 2 forwards and 2 banks of four (4-4-2) gives the best chance for a team to get results from a poor team

 

I'm not knocking David Hopkin but at times he wanted to reinvent the wheel with his formations, we're league three with league three players keep it simple and nothing simpilar than 4-4-2.

 

Totally agree, at this level it needs to be the simpler the better. In tough times like now just stick to the easiest formation that players have probably played since they were kids.

 

We don’t have the player for 442 though that’s the problem. We have a team of midfielders

I wouldn't be suprised if Scannell is available soon, as I posted he was going through some runing last week he Can't be far off.

 

I think if we had Scannell and Robinson available all season I think we would have had more points on the table

 

He's 2 weeks away (still).
