Walsall will be a test for us,let's hope they are still on cloud nine from beating the Mackems and don't turn up.Let's hope we DO turn up!

As much as I might seem a little negative on here at the moment I am begging all City fans to cancel their plans for Saturday, tell the wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/midget and family to f@ck off and get down to support the lads on Saturday.

We urgently need to win this match and the lads need our support!

we HAVE to win this one, and I think we can. if we can learn the basics of defending, and continue the good scoring form we've found recently we can beat them at our ground.

for probably the first time in a calendar year, I will go to VP thinking we can win.

Just read their forum. One guy reckons that with Karl Henry in midfield there will be plenty of tackles flying in??? Is there a different Karl Henry that he is mistaking ours for?

But whenever I think we will win we lose and there is meltdown on here come 5 o clock

 

Its great to actually have competition for places in key areas of the pitch. Wood or Chicksen at left back? Henry, JO'B or Akpan in midfield? Miller or Doyle up front? I'm not writing off Karl Henry just yet. Yes he looked way off the pace when he came off the bench on Tuesday but he has added a bit of leadership in there and has put in a couple of decent performances as well. I'm hoping the competition gets the best from Akpan who is inconsistent to say the least.

Another decision for Hopkin will be whether to stick with Mellor in a wide right role. I thought he gave us a good focal point in the air and looked strong in that role on Tuesday. Having Mellor as an outlet could be necessary if we are to stick with Miller who is improving week after week.

As others have said, optimism is growing so hopefully that bubble doesn't burst. First home game since Edin has gone, cold weather or not - hopefully everyone is right up for this. Win and you'd guess that we get ourselves off the bottom and possibly go three points behind Scunthorpe with them to play next weekend - its a huge incentive.
