    I've been mulling over this for a few days, the more you think, the harder it gets.

    But here's a few ............. (in recent years)

    Steve Davies ..... Solid and dependable, when fit
    John Stead ...... Look at our Chelsea game - what more can I add ?
    Rory McArdle .......... Always there when you wanted him, attack or defence.
    Matt Kilgallon ......... Oh to have him and Rory at the back, right now.

    There are many more, but any side 'we' put together would be more than comfortable mid table, right now :)

    Nope, I couldn't disagree more. He was superb in the History Makers promotion season. But, a handful of games apart, he was pretty awful in our first L1 season. He was so slow that teams were bursting through our central midfield for fun and scoring. We let Jones go at exactly the right time.
    Nathan Doyle however should have been given another season.

    Jon Stead wasn't let go too early in my opinion, neither was Steve Davies - both would get in our team now, though, but in the interim years we had better - Charlie Wyke.

    Once we had let Hanson go, either would have been perfect back up, but I doubt either would want to be playing second fiddle anyway.

    I'm terms of vital first team players, we never adequately replaced McArdle, and our defence has been appalling ever since.

    Felipe Morais - strange that as good a man manager Stuart was, he couldn’t seem to get Morais to find form. At the time I didn’t disagree with decision to let him go and don’t think any of us expected him to make the impact he did at Bolton. However disappointing that it wasn’t us who saw that form. Seemed to love the club as well.

    Neither were "kicked out". Meredith left to play Championship football and Marshall left for family reasons.

    was talking about something last night with McCall.

    We was at an hospitality event at VP when Peter Osgood was the speaker, Nicky Law took Stuart McCall off during a game, Osgood lost the plot, couldn't understand why Law took him off. Man I miss a player like Stuart :(

    He wasn't kicked out. He was bought, with a potentially big return for us. Good business to me, although I would of liked to see him in a city shirt a few more times
