The media focus is always in the PL, football was invented in 1992, is mainly about the top 6 and barely exists outside the PL to most of them. The unfortunate events at Leicester haven’t changed the fact that the UK media couldn’t give a shit about lower league clubs. In the Times on a Sunday the whole of League 1 and 2 gets about the same coverage as a piece on Jose’s lunch.

A mistake? A mistake we could live with but an ongoing string of monumental f*ck ups is what has got us to where we are now!

 

This is my view on the timing of the flyover.

First and foremost the Portsmouth game will be well attended and therefore maximum publicity, which what is required for kicking off our campaign to persuade the owners to sell up. Plus light might well be a problem if we leave it later next month which would be our next home match.

However, it has saddened me that ppl on Twitter are linking our campaign with a lack of respect for ppl who died in the tradegy last weekend. There is nothing you can do to change their minds about the protest they either for it or against it. We are a fan base that has a multitude of views on the same subject. This is not a time of hostility, it is a time that we need to keep together whilst understanding that others have a different view.

I would ask the question; we hear rumours there is about to be changes at the top, how do we know that the pressure from the protest has not had an impact on the decision making?

We have asked the plane to avoid the minutes silence to happen at 3:15 onwards, because we do not wish to interfere with remembrance of the fallen, plus the ppl who lost their life last weekend but for then ppl to say we are being disrespectful if we flyover at all on the same day is offensive and completely missing the point. Actually the two events are firstly not linked ie not happening at the same time and secondly are not incompatible. I fail to see how asking the owners to leave is disrespecting the fallen or ppl who died.

Obviously ppl will disagree, but that is my view, both my grandfathers fought in WW1, my father fought in WW2. All of them would say don’t lie down and accept the inevitable always stand up and be counted.

Two points - Tragedies are not time selective, and millions of worldwide events still go ahead in any aftermath, our 'flyby' is no different. It IS possible to be respectful, as we all carry on living.

Secondly ......... Many who criticise (anything) are very precious, but are quick enough to risk rupturing their spleens over 'non issues' when sat in the comfort zone of behind their keyboards. Polar opposites, and highly hypocritical, IMO.
(I'll fight the good fight - So long as it's my OWN, type attitude !)

 

Just how many chances are you prepared to give them before you decide enough is enough? No doubt if January is the usual shambles you will be saying 'oh well see what happens over the summer' and on it goes...

 

For the money this would have cost it would have payed for someone to travel to Germany for a face to face meeting with Rupp. Far mor effective

The time for dialogue has long gone, they are not trustworthy anymore. The BCST meeting should've told you that dialogue is pointless with these two.

 

I think you misunderstand the idea of crowd funding.

My personal view is, and it doesn't offend me per se, was that a flyover during a silence would paint the club in a negative light and wouldn't attract the type of awareness you're after. If it goes over at 3.15pm, fair enough. It may persuade any potential buyer to make a move.

 

The BCST didn't really ask any difficult questions though, they basically wanted to look like meant business yet asked the most basic of questions that had already been answered. It was almost like a answer and question session.

 

the BCST aren't fit for purpose.

I propose a vote of absolutely no confidence in BCST as a voice for supporters to engage with the club.

I doubt very much any new parties who may be looking to take the club on (if these guys want to sell) would base the buying of our club on a fly bye, they will have a good knowledge of our past histories and how we respect things like last Saturday tragic incident, just as we expect our sad event to he respected by others.
