    Interesting read
    Anyone remember
"If we are top 6 come Christmas we will back Stuart for promotion"
We have learned from our mistakes
To detail but two we all know the rest
An apology for employing MC is mearly a tip of the iceberg but never the less appreciated
What would have increased the optimism levels would be assurances the real problems had been recognized and plans put in place to progress
Leaving DH to run the team
Qualified staff to fill important positions
Forgetting the bring the young lads on then sell them ethos
Invest in quality experienced first team players etc etc etc
Would have had more credence if the statement qualified plans for the way forward
Details as to how and when the club would halt the slump and return to where we were before with year on year progression are missing
It's a start not sure am convinced but the proofs in the pudding

But is it ? To how far some will go I have no idea but if you don't think things are in the pipeline I would think again. My own view is I believe it would be better to wait for now to see how things are by end of the month but I feel many fans are past waiting and doing nothing.

There definitely seems to be 'noise' from the various supporter groups.

When they took over we were a top 6 side who just needed that bit more quality, today we are a shadow of that side and Edin is hoping Hopkin can perform a miracle, and he says he's made mistakes along the way, some are so easily taken in by words.
His idea of taking us forward have seen good people leave the club and now he finds himself isolated because when you only employ yes me at times like this you find out who will back you up and I dont see any.
You have brought this situation upon yourself Mr I know football, you quite obviously DON'T KNOW FOOTBALL or how to treat people, they saw what you was doing and tried offered their opinions/input and you drove them out.
I very much doubt fans will even bother chanting your name you are nothing to many of us who can see through your failed vision, just let's hope for your sake Dave Hopkin can turn our season around or the last few weeks will look like a tea party.

His apology only goes half way. He should have said “I am sorry and the club has been put up for sale and I will help find new owners who have the club’s best interest at heart”. Please City fans do not fall for this bullshit.

    Some good points there Dave
It's like a child apologizing for taking cakes from a cake tin then leaving it full, and within reach
Had the statement confirmed the way forward it would have gone a long to appease fans and given him a break to put plans in to place a surprising number would have backed a good plan and showed patience/ confidence in the knowledge that the club was at last going forward
DH may well turn out to be a good manager but he can only work with what he has got/given
It smacks to me that a lot of responsibility has been put on his shoulders (some may say to deflect any future blame) whether he is up to the task remains to be seen
I can only recall one manager who did well with "kids" and that was Alex Ferguson DH certainly not in that class
Hence the desperate need for experience on and off the pitch

Haven't we been down that road already? What makes you think new owners will have the clubs interest at heart?

    Apologies,

So we did have a fitness coach for the first month of the season ?

So no staff have been driven out ? Chris Short, James Mason ?

So he did detail the inaccuracies in the press articles ?

So him and his wife are not drawing salaries ?

    Not a shred of evidence!

My own thoughts is that Rupp has had a word with Rahic, combined with recent press articles and building fan unrest with talk of protests the pressure on the owners is mounting.

I see this as nothing else than a PR stunt to bide some time and take some pressure off but as much as I want it to be sincere we have heard this all before.

If it is genuine then I doff my cap as it takes guts to admit you have fecked up but I won' t hold my breath.

Hope DH is left to look after footballing matters and the right people put in place for important roles within the club, I love my wife but no way would I employ her to do such an important job she has no experience in, thats just madness.

Don't know how I feel about the owners at present but one thing is sure I love Bradford City and will support the lads that take to the field, all I want is to see passion and fight and if we win, lose or draw I will be proud.

For most I'm sure the apology is a step in the right direction. However, things have really been heating up lately with national press getting involved so I see an apology given due to the imminent melt down and I always value an apology freely given without duress rather than one given through desperation.

I hope he has finally realised he doesn't know it all.He appointed Collins and sacked him after 7 games due to failure, but still maintains he is a good coach which retains his credibility in appointing him, despite his poor record with the under 18's. So he is still only half apologising on that mistake, has he really got the message?

I hope improvement on the pitch and clarity in support of D.H. will be there for all to see.If he shows the fans he has learnt, then he will get a chance to carry on under close scrutiny as the long term survival and prosperity of our club is everything to the fans.

    Good Post
However had we beaten Blackpool on Saturday do you think we would have seen this statement
I value your opinion that a freely given apology carries more credence

Is the apology because we started the season poorly, or because we've been run and organised very poorly since Grayson left?

If it's the first, it's an empty apology in my view. If it's the second, hopefully the days of the club being run without so much as a caretaker manager in charge are gone. We need a proper director of football, a superior transfer/scouting team, and for Edin's most hands on task to revolve around setting budgets or working the clubs finances.

Edin should have zero say on ALL football related matters until he is far better acquainted with this level of English football.

    Ten years minimum.

Unfortunately for Edin it's all gone a bit too far for some people I really don't see how he gets them back on side. I honestly don't know how R&R have messed it up so badly put a little more into the first team leave that to Parky or Stuart and bingo bongo we'd have been in the championship.

I'm glad he's admitted mistakes and apologized for him that was probably quite a difficult thing to do. Actions speak louder than words though now if we're still in the same situation in a few weeks even those who would give him the benefit will turn. He desperately needs to create a positive atmosphere around the club now and could do worse than getting pointy shoes to come back and allow him to do his job.

It's just a feeling but I get the impression that DH does now have the control that Stuart and Grayson should have been given. Just something about the way he talks in his interviews.

Anyway for me Edin now needs to step well back from the first team and let DH do his thing and be judged based on how he gets on. There's still a flicker of hope left for me but he needs to be very very careful with it now wise man once said two ears one mouth.

it’s more of a public apology than i remember us getting from mr richmond when he eventually left the club - but in true bradford city fans style we ask for signings and it’s “no, not that signing”, we ask for an apology and and admittance of wrong and it’s “no, not that apology. that won’t do” and those that berated MC earlier in the season for being ‘too cliche’ are now running around, hammering into their keyboards “too little, too late”, “will believe it when i see it” and “actions speak louder than words.”

fair play to mr rahic for putting out a public statment to try and diffuse some of the tension at the moment, i personally don’t care who instigated it but it was the correct thing to do.

now, hopefully we can move forward to saturday with fewer distractions and see and improved performance both on the pitch and in the stands and maybe some of those who have been creating false rumour can be big enough to apologise too.
