Was there a question? I don’t recall any “?” symbol anywhere within your post. For someone that admits to not posting much, you do seem to have an issue every time Bronco responds. Is Norman your alter ego?

 

Really who cares about our last two managers starts to their season, and why is it relevant.......a win tomorrow will not take away many fans doubts, we are where we are we have no choice about the man in charge he and the team got full vocal backing from the crowd on Tuesday night and will again on Saturday including me.
Keep getting results and there will be very little the doubters like myself can say, I believe it will end in tears but will be quite happy to be proved wrong, but not with quotes about past managers opening starts to any particular season.

F,in ell. Just realised I've been arguing with myself for 40 minutes. Thought I'd get more involved. I,ll stick to the occasional quip.

 

I don't think he is talking about the start of any seasons. He is comparing their time in charge this calendar year 2018. So he is comparing the results SM got January until he left and then SG for the rest of the season.

 

And still irrelevant the season finishes in May, hardly fair comparing SG time at the club, things had really gone toxic by the time he came, he even said as much himself.

I agree so why perpetuate the argument with regard Colin’s let’s wait and see many people have doubts as I have had with managers in the past but it’s the proof of the pudding that will count as you say. So just leave it alone and give the guy a chance

 

Someone posting something new would help, or something to watch on TV that Middlesbrough V West Brom was painful to watch, hopefully we will be discussing us getting three points at 5pm on Saturday.

If he had any points of view worth reading, I wouldn’t mind his “occasional quip”, but he rarely offers anything and instead attacks the poster rather that the post....!

 

Must be an exciting life you lead there Keefly having to resort to watching certain posters and how many post they actually have.

 

Scunny have seen the error of their way appointing Dawes and will I assure you be appointing a bonifide Manager to oversee their resurgence up the table !.

Here is my thought process.

Q. Do I think that McCall was a good player for Bradford City and deserve respect for that?
A. Yes.

Q. Do I think McCall was a good Manager/Coach for Bradford City and does he deserve respect for that?
A. No.

Q. Do I care if he is successful now he no longer involved in Bradford City?
A. No

Q. Do I want any team in League 1 to be more successful than us?
A. No

Q. Should McCall become the manager at Scunthorpe do I want them to be successful?
A. No

So given that I believe

a. McCall is not a particularly good manager/coach and
b. I do not want Scunthorpe to be successful

it seems logical that I would want to put the two things together.

In the same way that when Parkinson, someone who has done far more for Bradford City as a manager, took over Bolton, in the same division as us, I did not hope that he would be successful and, in fact, I hoped, that when we met his team we would, to use the American phrase, hand them their ass!

Do we hope that Charlie Wyke is successful? No we don't. We hope he doesn't score again (absolutely not against us) and that Sunderland have a particularly poor season....be honest now!

Clearly I am not a person that looks to the past, I am not nostalgic and I do not carry any sort of saudade for people or places . Once you are gone, you are gone and McCall, Parkinson, Vincent, Morais, Wyke, Hanson, Law, Jones etc etc may enjoy my respect for what they did at BCFC but after they have gone I could really care less.

It is no particular dislike of McCall. I really don't know him at all outside of seeing him play and watching him manage. I just don't rate him as a manager and don't want him (or anyone) bringing success to a divisional rival.

Great reasoning but having said all that if McCall gets the Scunny job he'll finish higher than us; Parkys getting plaudits at Bolton Wyke will score goals and Sunderland will be promoted Laws running show at Exeter; while Hanson's pleasing Wombles fans. It's ok for us not to want them to do well at others clubs because it's just going to happen anyway !

 

So @Norman Corner now that McCall has been appointed as Scunny boss, you going to take me up on this? Fancy a bet that whilst we have Collins in charge, Stuart will pick up more points for his new club than Collins will for us?
