Well that wasn’t informative at all! Apart from I have learnt what the plan is. Don’t go broke and conduct financial affairs that make this club sustainable. There is no plan for promotion! The rest is just waffle. GA need not have been there. Gent doesn’t really know what he is doing.

Not really taken to task on his responses though. Maybe a live audience would have bristled a little more that Raynor did? You cannot have been anywhere near happy with what you heard tonight?

 

Everything about that ‘forum’ indicates exactly why this club, is where it is.

The answer on ‘what our strategy is’, confirms we don’t have one. Trying to increase revenue to keep pace with the average wage bill for the league isn’t remotely a strategy. And Sparks claim to have improved turnover by 45% is completely disingenuous, as he’s clearly using the Covid season as the baseline.

Utter guff.

Bottom line - the mandate from the owner is ‘keep us in the league, don’t go bust’. That’s nowhere near enough, and frankly it deserves to see the club fail.

 

Gent pretty much gave away that the answers were prepared. When asked about Middlesbrough he immediately answered that in his reign he has signed 7/35 players from Middlesbrough. It's impressive recollection to just know that on the spot in a pressured "Q&A" situation.

Think raynor missed a trick when sparks said he runs the club and has his own opinion on what he thinks its worth

 

Utterly depressing wasn’t it? And if Rupp and Sparks think thats enough to retain the masses, they’re in for a shock.

All tonight did was confirm what we know, and give further cause for concern as to the ongoing trajectory of the club.

Unfortunately, whilst tonight had to be allowed to pass and listened to with an open mind, focus now needs to shift squarely to putting pressure on Stefan Rupp. Without a change in ownership, this club is in serious trouble.

Confirmation of it was needed that season ticket sale income is for sustainability first and foremost
ie protect/grow the multi millionaires investment so he doesn't have to and in the bargain keep Sparks in a job

Said on here before the only way to get them both out is to withhold (until they have gone) buying season tickets
Only then will Rupp move for fear of losing even more of his investment thus forcing Sparks out for failure to generate enough cash to keep us sustainable
Nothing else will work whilst we fund the club as RS said the fan base is the only asset without that they are both toast

The question were answered the only difference was the night wasn’t taken up with people ranting.
I have posted on here many times people need to get someone to speak for them and to talk to Rupp and ask him to put the club up for sale officially which would concentrate minds.

Why was Graham Alexander on the show I have no idea.
If he wasn't sure what he is personally up against at Bradford City He is now, well and truly.
The task ahead to resurrect our club fortunes is massive. I hope Graham and Chris or the next managerial appointment have got the enthusiasm and mental strength to overcome all the dire situations surrounding a once proud premier league club albeit for only 2 seasons from oblivion.

 

Gilliead in a front 3 was the highlight of the evening for me.

 

I don't think that necessarily means he knew the questions. He just assumed this would come up because we all know he signs players who have some form of connection with Middlesbrough.

 

Think mine was explaining why all 11 are in the box for set pieces, saying we use the physicality of the squad.

You know, everyone would look at Pointon, Smith, Wright, Chapman and some others and think "Yes! These are physical lads. Best spot for these lads is around the 6 yard box, why would we need them around the half way line for a break? Or you know, to pull 2 attackers away for the opposition".

 

I listened while doing some work, so maybe I didn't hear everything 100%, but I feel the same as before the interview. I felt the joking nature throughout took away from the seriousness of the situation, and the whole forum should have been about putting pressure on Sparks, Gent and GA to give the fans answers to some basic questions. Yet, most were danced around or skipped altogether.

 

Agree, maybe at the end of the question with regards Rupp getting offers etc Jamie should have asked Ryan if he would report back to Rupp (as I very much doubt Rupp will be aware of this broadcast) with regards the fans concerns and his willingness to listen to offers for the club, and make a statement to the fans as the clubs custodian.
