Can’t believe some of these posts I’m reading RE Crawley. Their first goal was a superb cross and finish but they looked below average. barely had a kick in the second half until we hit the self destruct button - just that chance over the top where they did us for pace.

At 2-1 up, at home, so late in the game, we had to see that out. Three points dropped.

Just shows how a game of football can divide fans at the same game and rate it so differently, I thought as I'd posted IMO they were the best team I've seen at Valley Parade this season, they took us apart the first half, then after us dominating the second half and going in front they upped their game again with a little help from us and won the game quite comfortably, funny old game as Jimmy Greaves used to say .

Yes I posted that comment at half time I believe, they looked a good passing side but we were poor and at times overrun in midfield we got our noses in front only for us to believe we were good enough to defend that lead, as @SteveC says making the Derbyshire sub and taking Ridehalgh off even accepting he had been poor made little sense if for nothing else Pointon or Chapman had pace and could at least have a nuisance value, unfortunately it made Crawley up their game, but to concede 3 in the last 15 minutes is pretty shocking.

 

GA has flogged the majority of the starting 11 to death. We’ve a big squad so he should utilise it while he can. This is the 2nd or 3rd game where he’s left changes too late and made the wrong sub. With Chapman, Pointon and MacDonald on the bench we had enough to change the outcome. Make subs to slow the game down and waste time like they did. We were too naive today. Oh and as for their keeper going down, completely fooled the officials when 3 players all changed their boots at the same time, while one of the coaches was relaying to their physio when they ready.

 

Because I believe he will turn the playing side around, the Crewe game we should have got something from but today we showed how poor we can be, time will tell but as we know it only take a defeat to see how some fans react.

Wasn't there today as I was at work but watching those highlights, a severe lack of conviction twinned with lacks of concentration have done us.

Yes reading the thread and the stick the majority of the players got and rightly so little was said about Smith who once again fluffed his lines, that goes in 1 - 1 could have been a different game.

 

Not only Smith the front two were dire today

 

Nearest sides MK Dons and Wimbledon effectively 6 points ahead of us with games in hand, 2 & 1 respectively. Add this to us hitting a run of poor form, unless we see incoming players in the transfer.window then mid table is the best this lot could hope for.

 

Unfortunately I have a feeling we'll never find out, obviously we have to accept what Alexander told us in his post match interview I'm just glad he wouldn't be my defence lawyer if I needed one sadly he was hardly convincing.
