if you are looking for a left field appointment Stephen Bradley Shamrock rovers who has a 55% win record was offered the job at Lincoln last time and is linked again. Doubt he would come over here but would be an interesting one

 

The club is in a working class city where the average wage is prob 20k (or less). Nobody would invest.

that is irrelevant though when people with cash are (supposedly) tabling bids in the region of 8.5m

as wetherbywhaler has pointed out, any would be investor also has to stump up another £4.5m to guarantee funds to run the club for the foreseeable.

Unless you were prepared to live away from your family for a chunk of time (as many players and managers do) and your family was ok with this, you wouldn’t have made the application, knowing full well how far from home it was and how disruptive it would be to your kids.

Sorry, but it just doesn’t wash as a credible explanation. It’s a smokescreen to avoid having to say, “I was really interested in the job, but when I saw the state of the squad, and realised what a car crash the club is, I decided it was a poison chalice that I don’t want to drink from”.
