The guy is ill, I don’t think he’ll be taking any jobs until next season at the earliest.

Why settle for 1 interim when 2 will do?

    Well run club? Farce.

Irrespective of all what has been commented on before, it's not great that we have a divided, frustrated fanbase again.

Hughes (for his failings) brought synergy to the support base and that's amiss now.

Tougher times again, everybody at the club deserve more.

It seems like Sparks is procrastinating because he is scared of supporter reaction to the choice of new manager. He is praying that a big name appears in his junk email but it’s just not happening.

From the statement last night and the KM interview post match, it sounds like Sparks has put all his eggs in the KM basket and stopped the recruitment process. 'Thorough', with lots of 'due diligence' this isn't. We've done nothing for 3 weeks but hope KM works out.

Another example of Sparks putting too much trust in the guy in the hotseat, at the expense of the club.

    There's a pattern here -
    Adams/Turnbull recruitment farce
MH dishing out 3 year deals to cr@p
MH giving 35/36 year olds 2 year deals
Stopping the recruitment process and hoping KM comes good

As a CEO, it's his job to say 'No, this is not in the best interests of the club'. It's not a popularity contest.

Agreed but if he interfears, upsets the manager who walks, then he is Edin II in the eyes of fans.

I don't know what's happened or what Ryan Sparks and the club have or haven't done, and I don't think we can or should just blindly guess.

Assuming they've done nothing for a month doesn't make any sense to me.

But what's most frustrating is, the announcement yesterday pretty much makes it certain we won't get a manager in before Saturday. Saturday would have been a perfect time for a new gaffer to come in and get a look at the players in a 'free hit' against higher level opposition. He'd then have a full week to prepare for the next league game, and league games are getting increasingly more important the longer we hover in the bottom half of the table.

I thought we'd make the announcement on Monday, but it was a total guess. Kevin Mc could have taken the EFL Trophy game, new gaffer takes over Wednesday morning, happy days.

Now we know the recruitment process is going to drag on even longer - let's hope it's worth the wait, because if it's just a bog standard lower league manager with little success recently or on his entire resumé, the club really will have a lot of people on their backs from the off - which is both ridiculous and a shame, but a situation that the club have kind of tempted by taking so long. If you're taking this long and not planning your recruitment around the fixture list, then what are we planning it around?

Agreed. Monday just gone would have been perfect.
Chance to work with the second string yesterday, work with the first team for a few days before the free hit that is Wycombe and then a full week on the training ground before Barrow.

Maybe the suggestion that someone has given back word is credible. KM and Ryan had the conversation about him stepping down at the weekend but the announcement about Trueman taking over wasn't made until just before the game last night. If nobody was lined up to take over this week, why not make the announcement about KM stepping down on Monday morning? My guess is they were planning to unveil his replacement sometime early this week then something about that changed for whatever reason and we are where we are.

At a guess I would say there are contractual issues.
With the new managers parasite agent obviously after a better deal for his client from our club.
Unfortunately that's the way football is conducted these days.
It's not for the love of the game it's all about money.

Jesus, if the WOAP are having a dig something must be off.

Also noticed that Sparks' “This is a very important appointment and, as with any decision of this magnitude, a great deal of due diligence has been undertaken.” line is pretty much a copy and paste of his first statement searching for a new manager.

Sounded like Cowley wants to stay closer to the family home for his next club. Talked about him and his brother liking being around the families more when asked about their next club. Also said, he wants to be at a club that’s "self aware and knows where it is and also knows where it wants to go". He said he needs to have a sense of belonging and to feel valued.

Taking from his words he would prefer to stay down south and wants to see a clear vision at his next club....... so that's us out the running.
