I never said Wellens would be a poor appointment I said he failed at three clubs. Fact

The problem is we can't judge managers on two game spells.

Which is why I was never convinced by his first two games.

If we sought the appoval of these boards, we'd be waiting until November 2033.

I wouldn't judge any manager with some of the players we have at the moment, not just on ability but also attitude.

He went to too clubs, that in reality "success" was mid-table respectability.

Bristol City have just got rid of Nigel Pearson. During his tenure slashed his budget, yet he still raised a decent side and then made them a fortune on some the players sales.

Some clubs get rid for no great reason, than that they've had a dodgy message sent to them. Grimsby got rid of Hurst, because they didn't think they were getting the rub of the green!!

Let's not pretend that just because a manager is sacked they must be rubbish. I'd bet anything Doncaster Rovers had wished they'd stuck with Wellens. And Salford certainly do!!

Exactly. There are too many variables for us to be able to say that this or that manager is definitely the one.

Not for me, He's just another one that can talk the talk for an hour.
Lost his job at Charlton because of a couple of penalties he didn't get !! Really
I can see he's already got a book of excuses bigger than Lenny Lawrence ever had ! haha

I was surprised Charlton were unwise enough to appoint Holden. I'll be very disappointed if Bradford City do.

Totally agree. Had some heated discussions about 'protests' during the relegation season. They never work - unless you want to get into a situation where the owner threatens to withdraw funding that is.

Rupp is not the main problem.

I'm no big supporter of him, but we can hardly accuse him of not supporting the team, when he's given us a Top 7 budget, virtually every season he's been with us - including the relegation one.

His Bristol City record was very decent.

I'm confused as to what you and some fans want or rather think that they can realistically get.

We give ourselves the budget, we are entirely self-sustainable. Sparks has said so. Rupp puts 0 money in. That's the entire point of the model.

If he get's praise for not taking money out of a club he puts 0 money into then that's an incredibly low bar for us to set as for him "funding" us

T&As lunchtime article makes out that an appointment will be announced soon with McDonald still taking charge of the pizza cup game tomorrow.

No it wasn't, he was sacked after losing his last six matches there. There was no unhappiness, like we are seeing after Pearson's sacking yesterday, from Bristol City supporters when Holden was fired.

Why are you confused? Most fans don't appear to want Holden. Unless he's set to return to Lincoln then many fans, though obviously not all, would welcome Danny Cowley; and he was certainly a realistic target when he spoke very complimentarily about Bradford City shortly after Hughes' dismissal.

As an aside. The EFL Trophy hasn't managed to source a sponsor this season. It's not the "pizza cup" anymore...

Sounds like an appointment is expected later this week, if we are wanting to keep it quiet and we've already decided I don't think they will be in the stands tomorrow night instead they will probably watch it online like Hughes did before being announced.
