Who on earth approved that deal though?

If it's Sparks he should walk on that alone. Anyone with 10 minutes spare can watch him play and automatically realise he's nowhere near the required standard.

He was being mentioned a few days ago on the Gillingham forum. They were getting excited by the prospect of Steve Bruce coming in as DoF and Clemence as head coach. Fortunately for Gills apparently Bruce wanted to bring in a large backroom staff and the cost made it untenable.
It would have been a disastrous mistake in my opinion and I hope he isn't being seriously considered for the Bradford City job.

Why? Genuine question as if someone like Jack Grealish says he’s one of the best coaches he’s worked with then that’s a good reference for me. More and more in recent years, managers coming from a more traditional coaching background rather than jumping straight into management are having success in the lower leagues, Nathan Jones and Rob Edwards to name but two. Rather than the same ferris wheel of managers, one of which you keep mentioning.

If he or anyone else has impressed at interview and comes with a plan they should get the job, not someone get it automatically because they got a promotion years ago.

Shows how volatile the market is. My guess would be that he is someone we've either interviewed or will be interviewing and someone has requested it.

He would be an interesting choice. I read an article on Sky Sports with him a couple of months ago and he's followed Steve Bruce around various clubs and also worked in academies at a few clubs then this summer he spent some time at Man City so as a manager he's inexperienced but as a coach he has done a lot. Jack Grealish speaks highly of him and credits Clemence with a lot of work he did on the training ground to improve him

Played for Spurs, Birmingham and Leicester but retired early with injury. Since retiring he's worked with Steve Bruce at various clubs since 2010 including caretaker manager of Sheffield Wednesday in 2019 until Steve Bruce was ready to start the job.

I refer you back to my comment about no standout candidates, any of them would have to react to a defeat(s) or a poor performance. I didn't say give McDonald the job until the end of the season now, I said if he reacts personally and gets the right reaction from the players to last night's performance. If that happens let's not rush things unless someone suitable becomes available or we are allowed to speak to someone already in a job.

Its easy to say that now but if he was watched up in the SPL last season then he will have looked decent. Killi fans seemed to rate him.

Did they? I saw nothing but negativity from quotes provided on here when he signed. Admittedly though, I didn't tell through forums myself.

    I didn't say I know this did I??
Simply going by the standard of our loan signings both last season and this, I don't think that anyone can be impressed by the quality - can you honestly say that you are?
On that basis alone I question who authorises these deals and who actually scouts these players, because if they do then by hell, they can have only ever watched the one good game that they have ever had.

I do not include the like of Scott Banks and Tyreik Wright, the only two worth signing.

He’d be cheap and desperate which I imagine is our remit. God help him with this bloated poor squad.
