Where did I mention the owner I posted a football man at the top
I want a football man in authority to set standards on the pitch and advise on the playing side of things give us some structure
    Rupp is another conversation altogether

Rumours Cowley is interested in both Wednesday and our vacancy jobs.

He'd need his head examining to take the Wednesday job right now. It's the complete opposite of the right job at the right time which yours is.

It's not a rumour. He's quoted!! "Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford City are both huge clubs, fantastic football clubs which mean so much to so many people. For Nicky and I, what a wonderful opportunity to be able to work at clubs which mean so much to so many people. The responsibility that you have and influence you can have on something which means so much to so many people. This is incredible and why ultimately we love football"

Means so much to so many people....
Weird to say that three times in as many sentences

I posted on here some time ago the way at the moment seems to be young forward thinking managers who play good football. You only have to look at the majority of the success stories in the EFL. Schumacher, kompany, Martin, Wellens, Duff, etc. there is the odd sprinkling of experience with Evans etc but this seems to fizzle out and they fall away and get sacked

I posted at that time we should have gone for Rosenior who was rooneys asssitant at Derby then but he’s doing a good job at Hull now so that ship has long sailed.
As for our next manager we have to ensure we hold a proper thorough recruitment process. We have time on our side with a points tally which doesn’t tip us into relegation just yet.

do I trust sparks to do this? No is the short answer. He has had long term plans and scrapped them instantly to get “results”. Gone for his number one choice in Adams , failed miserably. Saw Hughes Application last time and babbed his pants and appointed him without much other consideration.
Gave McCall a longer contract and sacked him. Appointed Trueman and Sellars and gone for youth then demoted them but kept one on the coaching team now

there is no joined up plan. Recruit for a style of play and a footballing ethos and then hold a full recruitment process to find the right man

As I posted in where are they now Jon Stead payed for himself to go to America during the covid period away from his family for months to get experience I know it’s probably to early for him but he was one of the cleverest footballers I have seen in our colours he is doing well as assistant at Barnsley and I think he will make a good manager in the future

I think you will find it was Rhodes who awarded McCall the extension to his contract. Announced at the same time as making Sparks CEO,a parting gift from Rhodes to McCall on his last day. Sparks made the right noises that it was a good decision but was brave enough to quickly sack him.

Richardsons appointment would mean a complete change of tactics. He likes the long ball and physical players. Don’t think that matches our present crop

Also ithink 10 games is a factor, so if mcd smashes it and gets a bit longer ala sellars and Trueman in betting terms you get paid out

The owner is the top of the tree. “ a man at the top” . Owners knowledgable in footballing matters just don’t exist. If you mean the CeO then a CEO knowledgeable in business, commercial and marketing activity as well as football don’t exist either, save a handful in the entire EFL . This is the problem.

That approach has served Phil Parkinson well through his career, including with us.

You do whatever you need to garner success. If that means your approach is a more physical game then you stick by those principles. Never really knew what Hughes principles were in terms of game play, apparently a passing game but we were regularly outpassed especially in midfield

I agree but I thought people wanted continuity. Also have we the players to play in that manner

Well that sounds like something I want to throw up over! All the footballers that come here have that line in their spiel.

I am not sure you are correct.
I am fairly certain I remember sparks saying it was his decision on taking the full time job he wanted to remove the short term ethos of the club and therefore gave McCall a longer contract for the stability?
