I don’t get the obsession that some have with him all of a sudden, especially when he became a dead weight and frankly people didn’t give a jot about him beyond last October. . It happens, we move on. Some of the obsession is cringeworthy.

I posted my reason why I believe Hughes and the club could have handled it better/differently, if Hughes is so pissed with a kid being frustrated for not getting a run and being a bit player, he should have gone to Sparks and told him what happened and he want's Jake out of the club, done and dusted,
Hughes comments he's turned down other offers down are pathetic (I'll show you Young) well you haven't Mark, Jakes bided his time got another league two club and has found the sort of form I'd hoped was the reason Bradford City gave him a 3 year contract league two football rather than non league, the way Hughes has had us play so far this season is pissing fans off and it doesn't help when they see the kid scoring for fun for one of our rivals for a promotion place, sort your own house out Hughes.
Its a football forum sometimes with a bit of banter thrown in, you think its childish that your opinion. once again the Sparks comment was a bit of fun/banter again missed by yourself, so in conclusion as yourself I too really dont give one what other posters think we all like fellow fans to agree with our opinions, in this case I'm sure I'm in a minority will that stop me having a bit of fun.....................................................

Where was his form last season not only with us but also with Barrow. He has moved on to Swindon and formed a good partnership with Austin. But let’s judge him over a longer period before we pronounce him the next coming

You do know "ripping up contracts" usually means paying their contract up don't you? Therefore no money is saved to use on others. Mutual terminations also usually favour the player financially

 

Another OTT reply, point out where I made your above comment you cant, of course he was not a particular success at Barrow, but he's certainly showing a different Jake Young at Swindon.
The Jake Young situation is not the only deal where the club have given lengthy contracts to players and found out they are not up to their expectations, maybe we should look a little deeper than quoting the obvious, the likes of Foulds, Hendrie, Odusina, East, Oliver, Derbyshire need I go on ?.

 

Well if he is as good as people say he is we will get enough money back to more than cover anything we lose same with Lewis. This not a dig at you but if a player isn’t showing it in training whoever’s fault that is it’s best to let them go

We don't know the reason this has come to a head its all speculation/rumour, is he a poor trainer ?, did he make an uncalled comment to Hughes with regards not giving him game time,
Do you really believe Hughes told Young to find another club hoping he would show this type of goal scoring form then we get a good transfer fee for him, seriously do you seriously believe that.

Context is difficult on a forum. I genuinely believe that 99.9% of us would all get along sharing points in person, maybe over a pint, whereas in here in text form, it tends to lead to misunderstandings and reactionary posts.

 

In my experience he doesn't have a sense of humour to lose, which is why I have him on block.

 

By his own admissions, Mark Hughes regularly didn't "show up" in training until he came back from Barcelona having massively cut down on his lager habit. Perhaps Young has the same issues (perhaps not) but I would have thought Hughes could have used his own experience as a young player to help him bring Young on. Perhaps he did and perhaps Young was so disrespectful, and on such a regular basis, that Hughes thought their relationship had broken down to a point where it had gone too far to mend ? Who knows.

 

I think I've seen this fellah that you refer to lurking in the bar at the Rose & Crown, waiting to push his way into someone else's round.
