Decent point regardless of what the moaning bastards on here say, some must realise have sad lives and only get out to go get treatment on their stomach ulcers.

On the game not a classic, but some good passages of play from both sides at times. But as usual we tail off badly late in the game, our fitness department really needs looking at. First game I’ve seen since Morecambe and thankfully it looks like we’ve learned lessons defensively since then.

Need to win Grimsby now though to make sure it stays a good point.

 

1 goal away from home in first 4 matches is a big worry

Well I saw the team so went for a 2-0 loss. The point was better than I expected.

 

In my view that is by far our best performance this season. We tailed off after the subs that happens at the beginning of the season as the jigsaw pieces start to drop. Good competitive game. Just my view. Plus it wasn’t boring and we were trying to get forward much quicker

 

Did you expect us to?

It's a decent point. No real gripes about the result, but I don't expect drawing at Mansfield to be the limit of our ambitions. Some fans seemingly do, and the Manager certainly seems to, with the way he sets us up. The contrast between Hughes the player and Hughes the manager is stunning.

 

Not sure where I fit really. These threads descend into 'were doing great' vs 'were shit'. I'm bang in the middle.

We look like an upper mid table side, we're starting to look solid, we don't look great going forward. We're not going to have a crisis season but I've no confidence we are going up. Our performances so far are indicative of a 10th place finish. I've seen absolutely nothing to suggest that we will finish any higher or lower than that. We're just alright.

 

This lack of goal threat must be down to Hughes. How can other clubs (some with our players or ex players) score goals and have exciting games even in defeat but yet watching us is more boring than watching paint dry?

I’m not accepting another boring season of scraping results and only just getting into the playoffs. Football is about results and entertainment… we scrape the first barely at times and the second is none existent

If we actually had a left wing back this lad would be perfect for the left centre back role and give us the bit of mobility we lack in there.

Another yawn fest.

 

We got one more shot on target than they did, that says it all about the game, defences on top with a bit of lady luck for both sides, not the best entertainment but a massive improvement on the Morecambe game.

 

That was awful and glad it ended.

 

I can’t even motivate myself to analyse that performance. It was a non event ! A bore fest! A waste of 1600 fans time and money.

 

We need to win 60% of our matches to go straight up, not 33%.

It doesn't really though does it because it discounts gilt edged chances that are put wide like Akins header and a ball put across the box that the striker doesn't quite reach for a tap in. It also credits speculative efforts from range that bobble through to the keeper so it's a pretty weak indicator of which side carries more threat.

 

Thankfully not 6 games in though.
