Forecasts are made on performances not results. I'd rather see a performance at this stage.

 

Looking for improvement at this stage and a clean sheet against a free scoring team is an improvement. And two home wins on the trot an improvement on most of last season. Yes a lot of improvement needed but small steps

 

We were lucky to go in ahead at half time. Crewe really should have made more of their chances, second half was better, it could not have been much worse football wise. We look unorganised, unfit and a long way off in my opinion.
Hoping we pull a few rabbits out of the hat this week. I really have no confidence in Hughes getting it right though.

 

I only seem to remember them having one half chance in the first half when Lewis spilled it and the follow up was run out - the rest of the time the were passing it about in front of us to no real effect, then we had one chance and converted - certainly seen that before at VP, nice to be on the other end of it for a change

 

It does feel rather weird on here. We won but it does feel like a loss. I’m not very positive either so count me in with the pessimists. I can’t remember such a sombre atmosphere after we’ve won a match before!

No point if Hughes won’t play him.
Better to recall him in January and milk Swindon for the transfer fee.

 

I still live in hope that the players are bedding in to this new system, but they just look so far off the mark to me.
Its an odd start to the season, all the playoff teams appear to be having a sluggish start, the two teams we have lost to , both lost yesterday and were poor on the day and Crewe looked a neat football side , but as i said toothless not free scoring.

i agree , look at Colchester , winless but manage to win 3-0 at 100% Gillingham. Results are all over the place. I just think we have looked all over the place.

 

I think that all depends on if there's a change of manager before January.

It wouldn't have mattered who the manager was in the January that Doyle scored all those goals, he'd had enough of Bradford City.

If we haul Young back even if we're going to guarantee him game time under a new manager, I think he'll want to stay at the club that's finally gotten the best out of him, with a midfielder like Kemp who is setting all his goals up.

Coming back to a club where he just had a miserable first season and accomplished nothing isn't going to be a morale boost for the lad.

Sometimes you have to let players go.

Also: for all we know, the goals will dry up soon.

 

I think he tried for once to be impartial , thought only our booking was a bit harsh, other than that ...

 

If he keeps scoring, we can't let Swindon keep him, and there's no point hauling him back here.

We should start touting him in mid-November if he's still getting in the Swindon team by then.

He had a decent game, as I seem to remember he did last time we had him at VP - all will be unforgiven for his ndxt visit though!
