Something is not right. We have got to part where his assessment of the match doesn’t match the game we have watched. I have changed my vote on MH to twist. It will be so disruptive but the difference between Flynn’s interview and Hughes is chalk and cheese.

If Hughes got a reaction from the team yesterday, his assessment must have had a low bar.

I think he has a bit of a problem at the moment. With Cook apparently carrying a knock and Oliver still recovering from his injury, I wonder how Hughes will ŕespond? Expect Cook to carry on regardless? Bring in another striker? Give a Derbyshire-Smith partnership a try? Provide Pointon with an opportunity? Bring back the free scoring Young back before the transfer window closes? None of the above?

And yet there is a decent team within this squad if played correctly. I still believe we need a couple more players and need to get rid of a few but yet again we see yet another limited side pass the ball about better and quicker than we do. Hughes wants us to play this slow tempo, piss about at the back style and he's rightly been criticised for it.

That's what's so frustrating. Having a team of poor players in a system they are comfortable with would probably yield better results than having a team of decent players set up to play in a way none of them are comfortable with. It's so wasteful and unnecessary and if Hughes is too stubborn to accept we were so much better yesterday when we went to a back 4 then my patience with him will be just about done. He still has the next 5 league games for me but if things haven't improved significantly by then, I might have to accept it never will whilst he remains at the helm.

The performances and attitudes on the pitch suggest to me he's lost the dressing room. Even when we scored the celebrations were laboured.

I agree. With a couple of tweaks, it's a top 6 squad. But not with Hughes.

As others have alluded to, something does not seem right, Stubbs was arguing with Kelly when he wanted to take a throw near the opposition box.
Not sure but he looked to be suggesting he stayed back in defence, also words had with Walker, maybe about offering options to defenders.
Hughes looking pretty disinterested in the last couple of games, as well as the farcical after match comments.
    I am a bit worried.

I am a lot worried, that performance yesterday , even in wining the game was dreadful and miles away from a playoff side let alone the autos. Play like that against the better teams in this league and we will get mullered, Crewe were pretty but toothless.

Playing an injured Cook is a sign of almost desperation. Hughes will know if he's sacked here, he's not getting another gig anywhere else.

Problem for anyone wanting to change the manager is that these are hughes’ players. No time left in the window to change personnel for a different boss
The team was overrun yesterday, again. They look lost in the 3 at the back formation. Platts distribution is a problem. Teams have identified that and press him more than the other CHs.
The team needs to bed into the new formation and McDonald is a clever player in front of the back 3 but we look far more comfortable when we reverted to 4-2-3-1. only time will tell if they have that ability but to date it is far from convincing and hughes has staked his reputation on it.
yesterdays win didn’t even paper over the cracks but Jewell took 6 games to get going in the promotion season. We need to see better performances and results and soon. I hope it’s not a long winter.

I noticed that, when we scored last season there was a pile on of players celebrating. Yesterday it was a brief handshake as if the players just aren’t that enthusiastic this season. Maybe they were embarrassed after being outplayed, maybe they’ve lost faith in doing it for Hughes.

But can he bring Young back Dennis? I was of the impression that nothing can be done in that respect until the January window, when a recall csn be activated.

The team itself with a couple of exceptions is about good enough to challenge for a play off spot
The tactics unfortunately are well below the required standard
When the new manager comes in it won't take long for him to get the best out of them giving him the January window will be an another plus
It all rests on RS and how soon he acts as MH won't walk
Giving him 10 games as a lot on here are wanting will confine us to another season in L2
Your "long winter" is pretty much in the hands of RS

Think you can safely say @Bantam-in-Greece@Bantam-in-Greece
You've seen the last of Young in a City shirt

Do we not get any credit for them looking toothless? They were the 2nd highest scorers in the league before the game I think and they didn't get a sniff (and they barely had a touch in the 2nd half at all) - we must have done something right

Young is indeed there until January, then if he reacts like Doyle, he will spend every day in January while back at Bradford pleading to go back to Swindon.

Yes we get this every time we win a game. They were unbeaten scoring a lot of goals we limited there chances to very few. So at the least it was a decent defensive performance. And second half we did what we hardly did last season that was keep going trying for a second. Big doubts about Hughes but despite the negativity there were positives
