To me, it was entertaining because we gave as good as we got.

Yeah, they play at 100 mph and they try to get as many efforts on goal as possible, but our opportunities were better overall.

It takes two to have a fun game, and if they'd just battered us start to finish I wouldn't have enjoyed it lol

But you're right that they played their part, for sure.

Hughes doesn't have another wide option at the moment. I'm sure that will change.

Not seen any of the game as I’m on holiday,so basing everything on what I’ve read on here.
But if Cook scores the pen or the 1 on 1 and we hang on for the win everybody is using the old cliche of “good teams win games when not playing well”
There is not much between any teams in this division and like you said we’ll see this sort of game over and over again this season.

And he gave us our highest ever D4 position in 41 seasons.

We have a very impatient bunch who think that the footie is average or worse for five matches, then the manager should be questioned and if it goes on for another two matches - time to get a new one in.

Certainly had the fans backing at the end. As for his left knee , he was certainly feeling it towards the end of the first half

It's typical L2 player mindset. Countless fans moan about the same thing.

That's why these players are in L2. LOL!!

I think you're spectacularly missing the point as you usually do on this forum.

I am not denying we had two golden chances to win the game, of course not. What I am denying is that they came about as a result of attacking football. And that just because we could have won the game, it doesn't mean we didn't put 11 behind the ball for 40 minutes as we did countless times last season, with the same end result as we have seen before.

You suggesting it's the players fault then and the players who resort to those tactics?

Hughes has managed in the premier League for goodness sake, he's not promoted from the under 18 like Collins was.

If he thinks the players aren't playing to instructions he needs to do something about it.

How can you possibly blame the players, when it's the same thing as last season happening time and time again?

We've got new players, new formations, and yet same bloody tactics that were cost us promotion last year

No. You and everyone else moaning about tactics after going a goal up is "missing the point". In virtually every match between two even matched teams, the one winning mentally goes into retreat mode. Stockport did the same at our place last season - we just didn't get their keeper spilling the ball.

It's a pointless moan. Pointless because it's been an accusation at every manager since we came back down to L2 - which surely shows it's what players do at this level.

If you genuinely don't believe this team sits back after going a goal ahead then I can only assume you don't watch many games. Honestly, I have no words.

I think those saying weight need to have a look at themselves.

They will all be weight monitored especially during preseason.

Also new contract these same people were happy 2 months ago he signed such a lengthy new contract.

I could be wrong but personally I think the challenge at crawley when hughes said his knee locked has more to do with it than any of these other stuff ppl are suggesting.

Yes I see Billy Sharpe has joined LA Galaxy, let's hope Hughes has it covered with a Premiership loan.

So called "tactics" that were moaned about when Bowyer, McCall and Adams were in charge. It's a L2 mindset - that is managed by been tough and no-nonsense in defence and midfield, i.e. Stevenage last season.

We could be like Mansfield, attack attack and attack and end up 8th. Or 9th like we did in 2008/9.

It always astonishes me that fans take no notice of what division we're in or what tactics work. Remember, Orient and Stevenage scored no more goals than we did last season - showing that this 'control the game on the front foot for 90 minutes' is fantasy at this level.

Not looking like he’s helping himself with the extra weight he is carrying.

Cook will come good and I like how he is getting more involved in the game to be fair.

I thought exactly the same with Gary Jones tonight tbh. I'm usually a big fan of his but disagreed with a fair bit of what he had to say.

I watch every home game and a lot of the away ones. I'm not saying they don't. Please understand my post. I'm pointing out that virtually every L2 does the same and if you go on other boards you'll see fans moaning about the same thing (when they've conceded late on)

Many comments on here tonight are born out of frustration from missed chance costing us three points, and also a continuation of seemingly over cautious football. Couple this with a new system where several players look neither fit enough nor seem to have the ability to play it correctly.
We hope Hughes is aware of this and is looking to address it, be it loans or whatever.
I hate to say this because Im as guilty as anyone else at being impatient and wanting immediate results, however, we need to factor into all this the unknown. Which is,come Oct, tonights team may well be a shadow of what theyre then producing.
But, if its the same old same old, well, Im afraid I'll be well out of tolerance

He may be carrying a knock but if he was overweight I can't see Hughes putting up with it, the one on one you would have put your mortgage on him scoring but his last touch was a little heavy and gave Hinchliffe time to close him down, with regards his penalty as the two commentators said they did their homework on Cooks penalties and he does tend to put them in the bottom left hand corner but tonight's was poor.
