We should have score more than the one but then so should Stockport.

 

1, 1 was a fair result in the end, they missed some sitters and so did city.

 

I'm losing patience with Hughes. For a performance that had quite a few positives until we took the lead, the rest of that second half was absolutely appalling. Yet again, we go one up, park the bus and hope we manage to see it out. Its absolutely criminal that he's still employing these tactics when it cost us time and time again last season and will do again.

 

Im sure there's plenty for discussion regards tonights game particularly missed chances and one or two lacking performances.However one of the more disappointing aspects of our game tonight was our inability to win the first ball into our box, much of our defending was clearing the second ball, and it was just a matter of time before it was going to cost us, and sure enough it did

 

I've never got the love in for East. Note, that nobody from L2 has come in for him - but apparently on these boards he's everything we need.

And yes Osadebe has been poor.

 

We should have just hired Steve Evans. I’m well bored of Hughes now.

 

Firstly it was an entertaining game.
A draw is a good result for us but we should have won. Our best spell was around after 20-25mins first half and the first 10-15 of the second. Stockport fans will be gutted though, that’s before the Platt challenge where it looked a stonewall pen.

Cook - extremely poor. Has been first 4 games. He never looked like scoring the 1:1 and the penalty was poor. We’ve seen it with him before when he was low in confidence, needs to quickly snap out of it. Oliver looks a miss in the squad right now….
Platt and Kelly - really looked to struggle with the back 3. What has Odusina done to not be given a chance??
Oyegoke - looked out of his depth tonight. If we stay with wing backs it needs addressing with recruitment.
Pattinson & Odour - were a quieter this evening but still an upgrade on last season for me. Goals and pressing from midfield
Smith - again looked busy, our best player on the pitch IMO. His movement off the ball is refreshing. We need to get our heads up more and use it much better.
Macdonald - can see his quality on and off the ball. Really like the look of him and looking forward to seeing much more minutes from him. He even managed to nutmeg Osadabe!

I’m not against the formation, but really needs some work.

 

I think Gillead said so himself in a T&A interview this week that he needs to work on using his left foot more. I suppose he was playing safe.

 

And MacDonald looked shocked when his neat little touch on when straight through his legs and out of play.

Now how's this for an idea instead of actually sitting back and allowing them to equalise why could we not go out and get a 2nd at 1-0 rather than waiting for the equaliser to happen ...........we had them at 1-0 but yet again our pee poor tactics allow yet another team to get a point .................. he just baffles me Hughes we can all see what's incoming but he allows it to happen before reacting to it

 

We deserved a point at Crawley but once again you have to ask after lining his wall up 20 yards out should Lewis have been beaten, for me so far this season he doesn't seem to be focused I may be wrong, Saturday he goes walk about and tonight was poor but it's a team game and I'm happy with a point from the 90 minutes.

 

Smith our best player when pattison scored and won the penalty.

 

We need to get McDonald starting asap. He’s calm and sees things quicker than anyone else. Maybe Smallwood playing alongside him will bring the best out of him. 2 points dropped and playing too deep. Kelly and Osadebe both came in for stick by a pleasantly unbiased Stockport commentary team. They were just not at the races. Kelly looks every inch the non league player he is and Osadebe runs around a lot without actually getting involved. Stubbs seems to have lost the only half a yard of pace he had and is playing walking football. Hughes and Gent have a big 2 weeks ahead. I’d say at least 3 more. Pacy centre half if he isn’t going to play Odusina, left wingback and striker to push Cook on.

 

Could you imagine some fans on here running a professional footie team. Three mediocre matches on the trot and you're out.

Didn't he assist our goal? So he's getting chances, giving assists - but let's drop him.

 

Got to be honest i dont think it was fair they were much better than us for the vast majority of the game. However I think they will kick on and roll a few teams over this season. I'm not too sure we will. We are painfully short of pace at the back, we move the ball far too slowly and frankly some of them don't look fit enough to last 90.

Their tempo is frenetic, and not always useful to them

How they haven't score 2 or 3 I'll never know - but same applies to us with Cook's double shocker.

Very entertaining.

 

If we insist on playing 3 CB’s then we really need an Andrew Davies type player. Someone who just oozes quality.

Smallwood, McDonald and Pattison will do well in my opinion.

Smith and an on form Cook will get goals if the service is provided to them.

 

Cook is not right I have seen him miss a bad pen effort an effort of a one and one and he lost tonnes of challengers. Some of their defenders were all over him but he got nowt... to be fair. I take it back Kelly is a poor mans Paudie... terrible

 

the performance did seem all over the place but with the odd good spell, battling but Im far from convinced with the formation second to the ball and sloppy passing, we got away with that one but could have won it. Entertaining game Stockport will be kicking themselves.

 

Lewis is a worry to me. More than Cook. But we sometimes forget that great save he made on Saturday.

I reckon he's his own worst critic and will be working with Doyle to improve.
