It was good today that the scoreboard showed the clock after 45/90 minutes and also how much added time there was.

 

Some good points. I was surprised how composed Kelly looked. Think we might have a player there. I also thought Macdonald looked calm and composed. However I was watching on ifollow and Raynor and Kiwomya were jizzing themselves everytime he touched it. He overhit a long ball that went straight for a goal kick and I think they called it an intelligent ball, like a rugby player would play

Cook gets his shirt pulled all the time, never got given anything for it last year and doesn't look like that's going to change now they are supposedly clamping down on it.

 

It’s another EFL rule change,in the past clubs weren’t able to continue the clock with the added time.

 

Should have made him stay out on the pitch 10 minutes after the final whistle for time wasting.

 

If free kicks are being given for shirt pulling then Cook will probably bag his 30 goals from penalties alone...but we all know the refs will bottle it if its in the box

When McDonald came on I said to the lad next to me that this fella can play a bit, then he passed he next two touches straight out of play!

 

To be fair to McDonald, he did say after the game that whilst it was great to get back out on the pitch, he knew himself he was way off it.

A friend of ours wondered why they appeared to be playing in Leeds Rhinos socks.

 

One interesting thing yesterday was that a lot of our attacking crosses came from the centre halves! Platt in particular got very forward at times and put some decent balls into the box.

 

But we started 10 minutes late so that accounts for much of the difference.

In theory, if players adapt to the crackdown on timewasting and slowing the game down tactics what we should see is the amount of additional time reducing over the coming weeks.

It would be concerning if we still have 8 to 10 minutes additional time on the 20th game because that would suggest either the players aren't listening or the rationale for changing the approach to additional time was flawed in the first place and we've just added extra time on for no particular reason.

 

Runs the risk of loan targets not becoming available afterall at the back end of the transfer window.

Take the lad Gordon, by all accounts he was on his way, but suddenly he finds himself on the bench in the Premiership.

We shall see I suppose. I hope he has another centre back with pace, similar to Crichlow lined up, and a left wing back to fit straight in and strengthen the defence if we are to continue with the three at the back and wingbacks.

I liked the look of Tyler Smith yesterday, but still feel we are one short to compliment the striking options, especially with Oliver out for a while yet

 

Id be happy with a CB and a ST.

LWB id be prepared to address in January if required. Rather see more of Gilli there before we dip into market.

 

Pattison always go glaring reviews from our fans before he signed. Their goal is what we do and get caught or get away with it. The default should be kick straight away if they are bounding down on you. Keepers mistake. Onwards and upwards. Cook look tired.
