    Same, both in terms of feelings about the new season and the weather! I do wonder if that has something to do with the general malaise about the football, it's been miserable weather wise for weeks now and everyone just seems generally fed up.

    Not sure what all the noise about our defenders being slow when they're professional athletes. Beckles has been the best CB in the lower leagues for several years and he's hardly quick

    Let’s win this by a landslide. Looking at this suggested (by me) line up, there’s plenty of attacking intent. Two wingbacks, and a midfield with Walker at the tip of the diamond behind the front two, Smallwood playing the holding role. We’ll be absolutely trounced if we come up against a good counter attacking team though, but for today I think we’d get away with it.

    Having a fun trip down to Crawley. My direct trains down to Euston were cancelled, so I've had to go via Birmingham New Street. Just reached Milton Keynes and it's raining INSIDE THE TRAIN.

    Most played 3-4-3 it seems more favoured now than 3-5-2 because is more adaptable to make simple changes in the game to 4-4-2 or 4-3-3

    I have somè hope that Pattinson will make a positive difference but overall I have not been as impressed with Hughes and Gent as I hoped in their time so far.
    Agree with all sensible posters we have to give it 8 to 10 games to see how things settle down and hopefully i, like the team, will be firing on full cylinders by then
