Simpson will get fined for his comments after the first leg. Nothing happened on Saturday that you wouldn't expect to see.
In fact Carlisle fans were pretty tame. Barely heard them in the Second Half.

I take your point, but it's a fine line, and Simpson did apologise for something he said in the heat of the moment,I can't help think the EFL are being a bit paranoid over it.

He's claimed the referee is biased towards the home team. You can't do that!!

What are the consequences? Never using that hotel again?

We don't stay over when traveling to Carlisle and certainly not Barrow so why would we use them again anyway?

Do we book out the whole hotel in future? How do PL clubs do it?
They have the players in a hotel before every game.

Right so you think Carlisle the club should be held accountable for something that went on in the middle of the night and nowhere near their stadium? Absolutely bizarre post.

If we want to talk about misbehaving fans then we should be looking far closer to home with the way some of our lot have behaved this season. We lost fair and square. Time to move on.

C’mn that is harsh. I didn’t know they were going up in Friday. So if the home fans don’t know the away fans must have been doing their own investigation. My guess is someone at the Hotel leaked, hardly the club’s failure.

Hopefully we learn from it and do everything we can to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Premier League clubs can afford to book out very expensive hotels that are used by teams every week. It's well known where a lot of teams will stay but these hotels have triple glazed windows and blackout blinds like the hotel where Southampton stayed in Liverpool before their game against Everton this season. It's impossible to stop as all it takes is 1 person seeing them enter the hotel. If it can happen to teams like PSG and Chelsea it can happen to anyone.

I was eluding to confidentiality agreements. Anyway, hopefully we learn from it and come up with a solution for next time.

If you read my post, i state they deserved the win, but if we are under investigation for letting off flares in a pub in Rochdale
( BLOODY IDIOTIC by our so called fans) Then so should Carlisle for their fans letting off fireworks and blasting car horns at 3 am in the Lake district. What is the difference between both acts , by so called football supporters? Non in my eyes.

We have done it all season for one. In fact the flares going off by our supporters has been a theme for a number of seasons.

The only sanction we will get for our behaviour is the games will all be made a higher category by the police and the policing budget will go up. Maybe reduced away attendances. That will hit us in the pocket. You are wanting all of Carlisle’s playoff earnings taken off them for a few fans driving up to a hotel and letting off 30 seconds worth of fireworks?

I am pretty sure i saw blue flares going off on Saturday. All clubs have this type of element among the fan base.
I just do not want to see it at football , or around the game. It brings nothing in my eyes, and i am sure we have and will receive fines for our so called fan's behaviour.
I do not know what the answer is, i just dont want us to creep back to the 70's and 80's, where all football fans were seen as some kind of pariah and locked behind fences or made to join a membership to attend games, as was proposed.
I don't drink, but we are the only sport that is not allowed to ,whilst watching the game and being forced to sit down at a certain level of the game.
Football should be an enjoyable family day out, not spoiled by the mindless few.

I’d suggest there is quite a difference between letting off flares indoors in a pub versus outdoors outside a hotel, no matter at what time.

We’re all disappointed, but I never like to see these threads calling for sanctions against clubs who have beaten us as it just comes across as butthurt.

    Roll on the release list.

Maybe one of the hotels employees is a Carlisle fan, there are no other football clubs up there so quite possible it was something that came from a member of the hotel staff ?.

If City got to Brunton Park at 1.30 p.m. Then allowing for slight delays en route, they could have set off at 11.00 a.m. If you added in an hour for lunch, perhaps somewhere like Penrith, that would mean leaving around 10.00 a.m.
I thought I read somewhere that Cook, Gilliead and another player drove over from the North-East to Carlisle, so didn’t go on the team coach.
I struggle to see the necessity of an overnight stay, when it is a little over 100 miles and much of it on rural trunk roads/motorway.

Blow early ? He played a good three minutes more than the time he had added on in extra time.

Exactly the same happened to QPR when they played and lost to us in the last match of 1997
