I just want to give special mention to Lewis, Stubbs and Halliday. They kept us in it.

The tactics are not fine playing out from the back doesn’t work at this level in fact unless you have an extra talented team at any level

@Fordy117@Fordy117 very quick to tag me after Swindon and Gillingham results. He was revelling in the misery.

Looks like his prediction of no higher than 8th was wrong. Another woeful prediction!!!!

We're one of only three teams to concede less than 40 goals. I don't think we're "shocking" at any aspects of our defending.

Northampton specialise in creating chaos from deep balls - that's why they are in the box seat.

Once again we have to see just what Cook offers, he's got IMO some unnecessary stick for not offering enough to the team he was back heading the ball away from corners/set pieces during the game but winning that header from the late free kick he could have gone for goal but unselfishly headed it back across goal for a simple header in for Critchlow.

Great result considering we played with 10. Nevers is a charlatan, masquerading as a professional footballer.

Where would Osadebe play because he hasn't been playing him in the last few games when I'm assuming he's fit as he's on the bench.

You have to ask the question what Hughes sees in the kid he once again showed little but lets not dwell on the kid he's still a young lad learning his trade, but he cant start again this season surely ???

Disagree. The zonal marking has cost us many goals.

A word of appreciation for the free kick that Cook headed on for Crichlow. It was on the money.
Was it Smallwood or Stubbs? I couldn't make it out from the clip I have seen.

Getting fit enough to start after missing the first 6-7 months of the season, is nearly impossible for any player.

He'd have played in a midfield three or instead of Banks. He'd be a more physical player, i.e. 'L2 ready', just given us that edge, like a version of Jamie Lawrence.

I don't think we can dismiss two key players been out from Match 1, not having some effect - even though arguably Wright and Banks are / were more creative.

    My ratings from the game

Lewis - 8.5 - Some fantastic saves to keep us in it
Halliday - 8.5 - Some some solid challenges in. A solid game from him
    Stubbs - 8 - Solid
Crichlow - 8 - What a time to get your first goal
    Ridehalgh - 7 - Solid game
    Smallwood - 7 - Got stuck in
    Gilliead - 7 - Ditto
Walker - 6.5 - Didnt affect the game much
Nevers - 3 - guy is dog shit
    Banks - 6.5 - Put a shift in
    Cook - 7.5 - Cookie Monster

We did well in the first half. Got stuck in, didn't let Northampton dictate the game. It was the second half, where Northampton change their tactics, did we get overrun in midfield. We also had no attacking outlet as the 3 behind Cook looked knackered.

Not to put a negative spin on a great result, but feck me, Ive seen some shit wingers at the club over the years, but Costelloe & Nevers take the lot. They cant do jack an make Chapman look like Ronaldo. Bring back Periera. Surely he cant do any worse. Or put Osadebe on the wing

    Onwards to Crewe on Wednesday

Jesus wept. A team at home second from top and they put us under pressure. Shock horror…one sounds like Xciv in drag!

Bang on the money mate, leaving Valley Parade on a massive low after Gillingham's equiser, then today on a high after doing the same to Northampton, as you say mate it's a funny old game.
