Totally agree, at the time when I was hearing the chants and we were losing I thought to myself that's perfect as Cook had been a bit quiet and he could benefit from a boost, and I'm pretty sure he'd of heard the chants which would no doubt have just spurred him on to get a winner as he did. Pretty much the same as when we come up against our former players and the majority of our fans start giving them pelters and I'm sat there thinking why oh why would you spur them on like that???.....Surely the best approach would be to not really even acknowledge them at all which maybe could even screw their head totally for the game based on the fact of them thinking this lot don't even care I left. Possibly this would mean/do nothing but one thing for sure is any opposing team booing a player etc. Has to boost a players desire.

It was dissapointing , but not the end of the world . I know some at full time were giving them pelters (like some of your fans at half time ) just shows you how a game can change and how big a contrast fans opinions can be ,even in 90 minutes .

Fair play to Cook , when he was with us he wasnt good at all ,i think we released him but hes obviously come on and been a really good lower league striker the last few years

I'll be honest I recon it was more down to the long season they've had with regards the cup runs and maybe even with it being their first season back In the football league possibly a couple of players first season at this level im not sure, but I'd say it was more out of steam as opposed to planned.

They were pretty blatant, and 5 mins nowhere near long enough, as it turned out, it backfired!

I have seen a lot of teams who were worst exploiters of the dark arts.one or two of their players were dead on their feet after their recent schedule

From that angle in the still the keepers legs are behind the line and the ball is between his legs, IMO that's over the line until we can get a far better still, the referee stopped play saying the keeper had been fouled which clearly he hadn't.

Good grief. Football fans complaining about opposition chants. What a woke world we have. Anyone remember our fans chanting 'What's it like to sh*g your kids' to the Middlesborough fans when that was an issue?

To be honest i could not tell if the ball was over the line , and it was right in front of me, but no way was there a foul on the keeper. In the end it did not matter. We are never an easy watch, the 20 minute period before half time, we really shot ourselves in the foot. In the end we deserved the win, Grimsby played their part in an entertaining game, but looked shot for a spell in the second half. Good away support always helps make a great atmosphere.
3 very winnable games coming up and 7 points will really put the cat among the pigeons , 9 would give the cat the cream as well.
Matt Derbyshire made such a difference and showed age is no barrier if you are good enough.
Well done guys, up the f----ing chickens.

I believe that night it was in retaliation to chants with regards the fire from the Boro fans.

    Vile? Come on!

If you were a footballer, I would be giving you worse.

Cook scored, we won. Move on!

The Cook chants were a bit distasteful in today's market but I don't mind em as I know you can tell Cooks an animal this season and hungry, so will just thrive on anything like this.

They wanted a reaction and Cook obliged, pretty stupid to try and wind up the league two leading goal scorer, just a shame it was the winner at the kop end it would have been quite comical to see their reactions if it had been at the Bradford End and he'd run over to the Midland Road stand to celebrate, I remember Adams first game at Mansfield were the home crowd were giving it large with regards Cooks weight and he scored the winner with minutes to go **so funny**so funny**so funny.

Go watch Sky sports women football if you don’t want to listen to vile chants.

As long as it’s not racist or about the fire. I couldn’t care less.

I'm the idiot yet you try and defend the leader of the Catholic Church which is responsible for some of the worst child abuse in history and their response was just to move the pedophiles from 1 Church to another so the priests could just carry on as they wanted

In fairness, in the last two weeks, you've played 5 matches to our two. Thought you were one of the better teams to come here - at least you tried and played football.

Two or three good signings off your Cup Run and you could resurrect yourselves like your rivals Lincoln have.

I was sat near the kop end of the lower main stand and the ball looked well over the line to me.
I think the ref bottled it. He wasn't sure if it was over the line so he blew for a foul to avoid having to decide.

The difference in attitude / body language between Derbyshire and Mr Sulky Chapman - has to be seen to be believed.

I tend to defend all players, but Chapman's attitude is terrible and it must be so draining on team mates.

Example in the second half; - Perfect ball put through for him, he doesn't commit to it and then starts gesticulating at the poor player who passed to him.

He can't be starting again and he seriously needs some help. A talented player too wrapped up in his own frustrations.
