why ? are we not clapping hard enough. What do you expect the fans to do, riot until we get the type of football you think we should be playing. You do post some crap and are obviously on here not to contribute anything worthwhile, just to try and wind up.

Just to be clear-how many chances did they actually create compared to ours in the first half? I think we shaded it? They had 4 shots on target all game. Cook missed with a shot to the far post that narrowly missed. So not as pathetic as you allude to.

What’s puzzling to me is that Chapman was a key player in the first half of the season and now rarely gets any game time. I would be very concerned if I was him that he didn’t make it on the pitch today given the performances of Walker and Costelloe.

If Hughes doesn’t think he’s up to it anymore then fair enough but get him out of the squad and replace him with someone he’s willing to actually use. Pereira would be the obvious option.

Our home form has been unacceptable all season, I don’t think the first half was anywhere near the worst we’ve seen and we actually made more chances than the entire Barrow game and 90 minutes of the Colchester one. A sad state of where we are with our home form, if we matched our away form and performances I think we’d be getting ready for league 1 nearly.

It wasn't about chances for me, it was about the attitude from a team that should be busting a gut for every point being so close to the top three. Yet there was no intensity, no real pressure applied, it was no different to many other 45 minutes of home football and predictably Valley Parade was literally like playing in a library. We made a very very average side look good for 45 minutes, we've done it far too many times at home. Hughes simply cannot start with that line up on Tuesday, not at Valley Parade.

I mentioned this at half time, the team has no real athletes, I don’t actually blame the players for how they approach games as I can’t see any of them benefiting from playing as a high energy quick team, they simply don’t have it in them and look at times either lethargic or lazy as a result. We didn’t recruit much pace that’s for sure.

Cool..let's give him a contract in 8 year's time cause right now he's shockingly bad. Let's see if he finishes the season in the side shall we.

Where is the fight and determination to succeed? Only one player was busting a gut for the team and that was Cook, who was superb today. No amount of guff from the manager can convince me he has a grip of this run in. His tactics and ability to change players has been suspect all season. No idea why, he wanted a big squad so he could change. If we end up in the auto’s it will be down to other teams.

Costello is a young lad, and needs coaching and given a few starts and at the end of the match if we can afford it ie if we are winning. This is down to Hughes. He is clearly not ready yet.
Leadership on the pitch is pathetic. I don’t think Smallwood commands the respect from the other players. He did not say anything when they scored just trudged back to the middle. You don’t have the luxury of a full blown sulk when you are captain, the team need you to inspire them and make them believe this is just a set back and we can do this.
I would have East on the pitch most matches. Pace and football intelligence.
I don’t fancy us in the playoffs either.
The Gary Jones team were miles ahead of this team. We had Nahki and Jimmy scoring for fun plus a few from midfield and the defence. Every single player but a massive shift in. This team is supposed to be better but they are not. Hughes should play to their strengths not a system. Cook plays better when he has company up front. We could do with pace down at least one wing, Wright was doing that, and he had replaced him. We have had a lot of injuries especially to creative players which has been a pain.

To add to that though, with my proper head on, he's played woefully out of position and that rests with Hughes.

At home he's cost us 12 to 15 points and he needs to rethink how we move forward at this point.

Funnily enough, we actually do have players with pace this season. Crichlow, Bola, Banks, Osadebe, Eisa, Young, Nevers, Harratt. Unfortunately, some are no longer at the club, some are injured and the rest are on the bench. Go figure

For me the performance yesterday wasn’t as bad as others at home this season. We played better yesterday that we did vs colchester. We should have been out of sight in the first half. The pools scored with their only chance. Walker and Smallwood need a rest, and Costelloe needs replacing permanently by banks or Oliver. He is not league 2 level at the moment. Yes he’s young and learning but we’re not here to teach young lads. We need support and a proper finisher to partner cook. Yesterdays dropped points were down to MH. How costelloe stayed on that pitch as long as he did was poor, and cost us 2 points. I called it on this thread after 30 minutes into the game. Smallwood is also extremely disappointing. Given his pedigree, I’m surprised he’s our worst midfielder out of the current 3. Needs replacing with East, who impresses every time he plays. On Tuesday we must replace Smallwood, walker and costelloe with East, Chapman and banks. We’re just too pedestrian.

Chapman produce little in the first half of the season whilst Walker was injured. Goals or assists. Impact sub however might be the best fit for him.

I was surprised he took Clayton off rather than Smallwood. Maybe Hughes didn’t want to deal with his sulking. Yesterday should’ve seen Walker and Smallwood withdrawn after 60 minutes. I’m not confident about Tuesday at all and can only see a draw at best. Carlisle only need to stop us winning so I don’t think they’ll go all out.
