Sorry mate but I'm with Kevin on this one. Gilly cops a lot of unfair flack, works hard and always wants the ball, never hides. I think the system we've been playing most of the season hasn't helped him.

 

What about the systems we played on his previous 2 spells at the club? Are they the reasons he also didn't produce then?

He's played over 100 times for the club and very rarely produced anything of note. You can't just keep making excuses for him not doing the business, at some point you have to question whether he's actually got whatever it is you're setting in him.

 

When Walkers up to full fitness then there are several options chapman to replace Sutton or even drop deeper and compete with Gilly. But it’s not relevant because Hughes really rates Gilly justifiably and I doubt he will be replaced

 

Gilly was a poor Player before the system change and Sutton looking after him. Left in a two in midfield he would revert to not been good enough

 

You make the point that Gilly has played over 100 games and produced very little, strange one that. You obviously know better than the guys who have been picking him.

 

Not really. He's played over 100 games, I'd suggest around 80 of those have been in an attacking role, either wide or centrally and he's yet to hit double figures in goals and assists COMBINED!

Well.......one is managing in the division above us and the other is assistant manager at a championship club....seeing as you asked

 

One is a league 1 manager with 2 promotions from this league plus a further 2 promotions in Scotland and the other is assistant manager at a club 2nd in the Championship.

 

Not in charge of our club picking Gilliead anymore are they...

And yet both were truly awful whilst trying to manage us.

 

He wouldn't have a chance with the fans but it's not really the point. He is still a very good manager at this level with multiple promotions to back up his judgement

There is no correlation between clubs and success or failure. The profession dictates that only a few will be successful after having a.successful spell elsewhere. It's true we haven't been a well run club for along time and that it does make a difference somewhat. But we weren't well run when Parky came, it was Parky who brought the success in his spell at the club. The fact the owners had brought doesn't detract away from the fact they also brought a load of losers to the club as well.

 

Makes you wonder why we sacked them.
