    Very frustrating Today.
Players at league 2 level not really up to playing like we want to. One stray pass in ten puts us in the s@it as we have so many touches between the keeper and centre backs. Beats Adams rubbish like but we have so much pace in the team now and we aren’t playing in a way to use it enough. Hopefully the penny will drop and a plan B might materialise at some point.

I do feel for the homers who only get their football fix at VP. It’s been a pretty dismal place to watch football in the last 5 years or so since the playoff defeat to Millwall.
In contrast the away games are often a breath of fresh air and very much a more enjoyable matchday experience.

No pint dressing up, it was an awful performance against a team that normally lets in 2 goals a game.
First half was laughable to be honest.
Messing about at the back for far too long.
Crawley having a free run at our defence after every goal kick.
The midfield unable to make a pass.
It was slightly better second half but it would have been hard to match how badly we played in the first.
The only positive from this side for me is Critchlow. The lad enjoys the odd stray pass but he is an excellent defender. His positioning and reading of the game is excellent.
MH needs a plan B. Why we didn’t go 2 up illl never know.
One last point is Dion. He was useless today and I heard nothing from people in the stands moaning and giving him grief. He scored a goal and got a hero’s reception when he went off. Bizarre I thought given his overall performance. He didn’t look interested to me and if he wants to keep his place then he needs a rocket up his arse.

    Gillead had a mare.

sign a box to box CM in Jan or forget promotion we need more dynamism than East but not the carelessness in possession of Gilead, Songo or Sutton.

cook isolated in this formation again.

Does anyone on here still believe we are a promotion team? I think we are a couple of players short in midfield and desperately need a captain to drive the right behaviours. Disappointing at the moment and Hughes needs to sort it.

Behave. Smallwood is one of our best players. We could do with a better set piece taker though.

An expensive miss from Cook, small margins, that goes in we lift our game, really disappointed with what Sparkie came out with in his post match interview, without doubt the Crawley goal was a cracker but should wall have blocked it, did the wall move or did Lewis misjudge the angles, and to say we lifted our games second half was rather amusing could it be any worse than the first half non event, it was certainly a hard watch.

Why oh why don't we leave Wright upfield when defending a corner.
Surely with his pace he would occupy 2 maybe 3 defenders.
I turned radio L666ds off after hearing Hughes opening line of
" I thought we did well today ".
    Unbelievable Jeff

You obviously don’t sit near me otherwise you’d have heard me slating Dion the entire first half.

you say we mess about too much at the back then say Crichlow is a positive. That contradictory in itself.
I think Crichlow is a good defender but he’s the guru of messing about at the back and playing pointless balls to Lewis or accross the back 4 when a better option is to burst forwards

He’s playing as instructed by his manager. It also doesn’t help when your two CMs have their back to the defence.

Today is the first time I have questioned MH assessment of the game. He thought it was ok and much better second half. I thought it was better but we were still playing to the sand game plan. It was slow and laborious. They always had enough time to block us and press. We mostly crumpled under pressure hence the sloppy passing.

Out first goal came from a press mistake from them in midfield and we had possession with the opposition mainly in their half. Good goal.
We struggle to score at all. When we do get our noses in front we can’t hang onto it.

We need an attacking midfielder to allow us change the system mid match if we need it. MH is happy with the system so I don’t anticipate a change anytime soon.
The one thing I do agree with is apparently he sensed tension in the stands.

He is but he was awful today. Him and Gilliead are too alike.

Yup. Hate to keep saying but playing both Smallwood and Gilliead as a two makes the process of passing out from the back very hard work. Ball invariably ends up back with Critchlow or Platt

Caught the Hughes interview. he quoted some of the statistics. If you look at them they are impressive.
However the game felt dull, turgid, slow, predictable. Lacking in energy. A monotonous approach, which you just know will fail. Our goal came out of the blue, and was an untypical moment.
We need more options in our play. I think it was only in the last 5 minutes that Lewis took a long goal kick.
Even our throw ins invariably take an age, allowing the opposition to organise themselves.
