New plans introduced for Rugby League. I've not fully looked into it but it seems there'll be category A, B & C teams.

Category A will be guaranteed a Super League spot no matter how they perform, I imagine these teams will definitely be Saints, Wigan, Catalans & Leeds. Possibly Huddersfield, Hull & Warrington too I imagine.

Category B teams will be looked at yearly and given some sort of points based on many factors. Some of these teams will be put into Super League, and the others in the Championship.

Category C I guess are the tinpot crap.

No promotion/relegation between Super League & Championship, but there will still be between Championship & League 1.

So it sounds like the Cougars have been shafted again. They've released a statement earlier today expressing their frustration, and I don't blame them. It's a bit of a joke.:thumbdown:

Cougars are asking for 2 up 2 down in all leagues to allow for something to aim for rather than a closed shop or the same yoyo team (Leigh) going up and down.

That's their stance. The Bradford Bulls who know they have no chance of getting promoted through merit live in the dream world of potentially being handed a super league spot on past glories and a pie in the sky stadium dream.

The Cougars aren't being screwed again, they are nowhere near Super League like they were in 94/95. They are a club on the up however and like everyone should oppose a closed shop league.

Cougars are moving forward building new stand and ground improvement also team building and with new signings for next season. IMG are proposing a grading system category A,B or C the grading to be monitored on a yearly basis . Changes to the top tier could be controversial they have targeted London as a high priority . Rugby League have attempted changes previously without success anyway I’ll be down at Cougar Park next season supporting my local team .
IMG will be scrapping Relegation and promotion also magic weekend any money made by RL will be going into the bloody Yankees pockets .

from my reading top league will be made up of some A and some B, second tier some B and some C with bottom tier mostly C but could have some B in it as there will be promotion between the bottom two. So just being in Championship doesn’t guarantee a B as the club could be badly run, constantly going bust and having to beg for survival numerous times so those points would go against it eg Bulls

Let’s not forger Cornwall are run by a Canadian Consortium led by Eric Perez maybe third time lucky for him. Meanwhile next season some good away trips for me not far to travel Halifax,Batley,Dewsbury,York and Bradford Mrs Rocket will want to go to York .

I won't be getting a season ticket for the Cougars, but I will be going to a number of the games. I'll stand with the Cougar fans up at the tip when they have Bulls away and be at numerous home games when I have a free Sunday.

In principle yes but the Bulls academy should guarantee them a B but you never know

The fact they keep going pop every 10min, are held up by RFL loans and are a complete shitshow off and on the pitch probably outweighs the positives of an academy.

Well the Bulls have cemented their side as not even being the best side with a BD postcode.

34 - 6 to the Cougars today and the Bulls were lucky to get 6.

To be fair they have only played them a handful of times, with Bradford usually dining on the top table.

However Keighley probably have more finance than Bulls these days.
