Originally it was meant to be the Drill Parade car park like last season but MOD policy has changed so that can't be used anymore so it was moved to the empty patch of ground next to the railway along Midland Rd between Holywell Ash Lane and Thurnscoe Rd but then it was moved again at the last minute to the wood yard.

At one time you were allowed to park on Midland Road with the back end of your vehicle up to the wall, I noticed last Saturday they allowed cars to park on Midland Road bumper to bumper which drastically reduced the amount of cars you could get on that side of Midland Road.

that is to try and encourage people to walk on the pavements rather than the road due to risk to people walking on the road

Yes we drove on Midland Road after the game towards the Hamm Strasse I can assure you fans still walked down the middle of Midland Road, and when you gave them a little toot on the horn they looked at you as if to say what you doing on the road in a car.

yep so imagine how many more would be there if the pavement was covered.

best way would be to close Midland Road for an hour after the game

I agree, I'm not sure the locals would.

not sure the 100 people parked in the new car park
On the Sawmill or those parking on Midland Road would agree either with having to wait till gone 6pm before they could leave

Although Estate Sawmill close at 12 noon on a Saturday I wouldn't think it holds that many cars, and not forgetting there is a Household Waste Recycling Centre before estate Sawmills which at the moment closes at 4pm.

The club sold 100 spaces and tried getting them on Sawmills. If the tip closes at 4, the road being closed between 5-6 wouldn’t matter to it. It would be like the away tickets, some fans ie those walking would be happy but some fans, those parking close to the ground would be upset

I suspect that has more to do with how the first few cars parked, and others following, rather than some bod patrolling MR and enforcing the way we used to park on there.

I understand the club trying to find elsewhere, but what I can’t understand is the lack of communication. We have a facility that can only accommodate 85 but 100 spaces required. Someone should be working full time in this. Plus a universal email sent out to all those who have paid should be a priority. Plus if there are spaces in the clubs other car parks these could bd used. We just need to know what is happening.

simple short term solution would be to get staff/players to park elsewhere and shuttle them to ground in minibus

it would but the club have no control over that and the conversation is a bit off.

‘yes I know you have paid over £200 for a parking space but we fecked up so can you get the bus instead please’
‘If I wanted to, or could, catch the bus I would but I paid over £200 so I could drive and park in a secure place near the ground’

    or something along those lines

Works for me because I'm not daft enough to pay £200 for a 23 use parking spot.

therefore the conversation will not be with you. It will be those that the club have sold a parking space to and now can not provide
