A lot of people buy tickets late so let’s see. However this match is probably the earliest league match we have ever played and is right in the middle of the holiday season so the gate is brilliant no matter how many more we sell

Maybe, maybe not. When we're at least 1,300 short it seems a stretch. At that point of course, we're not "smashing it", we're edging past it!

My thought is that many are not very organised as that is why they ‘pay on the day’.

This is on the City website; ‘On matchdays, the ticket office will be closed, with tickets on matchday ONLY available to purchase online, or from the Burlington Street Box Office, which will act as the club’s matchday ticketing hub.
Tickets will be available to purchase right up until kick-off on the day of the game, via the club’s official ticketing website.’
I guess some would struggle with that, if they are just use to turning up at a turnstile and using cash.

Every lower league club should always have at least 1 cash gate, cost of operating covered with just 1 customer, don't see the problem...

over 17000 tickets sold , could mean 17001 or 17999. The club should give an exact sales figure. They love to dangle the carrot down at Valley Parade,

I think Saturday will be a tough game. I'm hoping we get off to a good start and put them under pressure from the off. I look at the Chesterfield result as a "don't get injured" game so I'm expecting a different mindset come kick off.

Why is that? Unless they're going to give a running total up to kick off, then the figure will never be exact. Is it that important?
I suppose they're trying to entice any doubters to come along and be part of what should be a great atmosphere.

Injury update ahead of Saturday in T&A this morning. Hendrie, Odusina and Gilliead all a couple of weeks away, Eisa same as it ever was.

0-0 draw or 1-1. Five wins and a draw minimum first 10 games.

We have no chance of smashing our attendance record of 39,146

As we know know who is probably going to be available for selection the dilemmas start. For instance who starts up front Cook or the under cooked Oliver. My tip for the three behind him is Chapman Walker and Angol. But you could make cases for Osadebe Harratt to be in there and possibly Young. Then Who partners Smallwood will it be East or Sutton
I think the two full backs will be Halliday and Foulds but in the centre I am Sure Platt will start and probably Crichlow or will he go for the more defensively solid Songo’o. Some tough decisions for Hughes let’s hope he gets them right

Don't be silly. 16 points from the first ten games might not be a brilliant start, but it's far from a disaster and represents 74 points across the season - solid play off contention.

A modest 10% improvement on the rest of the season brings 80 points. Automatic form. Judge where we are after 23 games. Anywhere around 36 to 40 and we are 100% in the mix.

Can't see Platt and Songo'o being the centre back pairing? Neither are ball players, which seems to be the preferred route.

As on Saturday sometimes you have to sacrifice “ball playing” for solidity

I can't see Critchlow not playing. For me it will be Platt/Songo'o with Critchlow/Odusina.
As Odusina is injured, it will be Critchlow.
Based on the Sunderland game, he's potentially a class act.
