Bus from Bingley or Baildon drops you off outside VP and takes circa 15 mins. To drive is just lazy and selfish, no matter how convenient it may be. Probably take you longer by the time you’ve parked up and walked on.

About time people shifted their attitudes towards travel especially such short distances.

When I don’t need to wear a stab vest then I may consider taking a bus - would also be a nice touch if they could get rid of the smell of piss as well.

A very fair point **so funny

It would be good if the council / First / Transdev / BCFC met up and introduced a £1 or £2 day bus ticket on matchdays, the roads would be much clearer, less air pollution on matchdays, and would probably benefit the city centre’s businesses on matchdays too.

Unless I need a cheap mobile phone cover then there’s no point in me visiting the City centre.

Some decent pubs in there now to be fair.

The new brewdog pub where the old spoons was is class - https://www.instagram.com/brewdogbradford/?hl=en

City Vaults had a revamp and is pretty impressive inside now

North parade is a decent atmosphere on a matchday

It is what you make of it, but there’s more than just phone and pound shops

Aren't bus fares across West Yorkshire being capped at £2.00 per day from September with a TFL style tap in tap out system that will ensure you dont pay more being brought in ? Or have I dreamt/ imagined that ?

Can’t see that. Day tickets are about a fiver these days with singles around £2-3. Can’t see such a big reduction in fares permanently.

    I imagined it. It's £2.00 per journey/ £5.50 per day cap.

Probably not longer once you factor into it the equation getting from home to the bus stop, waiting for the bus, hoping it is on time, hoping it isn't full, then walking from bus stop to the ground

No matter what the cost I wouldn't be using public transport, my daughter takes us down and picks s up up after the game, unfortunatly at my age walking to a bus stop waiting in all weather is not an option.

I've caught the bus a lot in the last few months and the above is true. Don't mind doing it to the football, means I'm not having to worry about parking and can have a drink if I choose.

I used to get the bus down but then had kids and wanted to take them too. The convenience of a car was welcome then and I wasn't arsed about having a beer if the kids were with me.

Sadly my mates have turned into a bunch of old wusses who don't go to the pub anymore on matchdays. Not mentioning any names......
