Depends where your seat is. I'm in C Block, lower tier, Main Stand. Too time consuming to get up and back to the upstairs suite at half time and I'd rather drink in a proper pub with decent beer beforehand than a soulless aircraft hanger with crap beer.

Upper tier if so you shouldn't have a problem.

 

The beer has improved slightly over the past season to be fair after the deal with Molson coors

 

What are you expecting in the suites, Chesterfield sofa's with waiter service of champagne and free caviar.
Reminds me of faulty towers. What view do you expect from a Torquay hotel bedroom window.

I used to go a few years ago, and the chilli was just great and the beer.

 

Of course I don't expect luxury. But on the few occasions I've been in the main stand upper suite the beer was terrible - I'm not a lager drinker and the bitter was some keg or electric crap and expensive too. The food was pretty rubbish too. It felt very soulless and cavernous. I accept that there's not much they can do about that, due to the nature of the building. But I just couldn't see anything about it that would make me want to sit in there rather than in a decent pub.

 

Try telling that to my miserable mate Sam who complains about
1. The dark interior. 2. The aged clientelle. 3. The walk to VP.

Me, I think it's just about one of the best pubs in Bratfud, but having been going on and off since about 1982 then I would be biased. I used to love it when Big Jim was "in situ" and holding court. That man had charisma is bucket loads.

 

I remember when he had the extension built to replace the outside toilets and he used to refer to it as "Big Jim's *@?$ Extension"

To be fair Karl, I had issues renewing because it pulled through the wrong seat, but a quick call to the ticket office sorted it within two minutes, and an e-mail confirmation within five. Their service is top notch.
