My phones playing up so can't copy it, but ROD has just tweeted he had no issue whatsoever with the way the club handled things. As I said, appears to be sour grapes from his wife.

 

I vaguely remember when ROD was given his last contract. He didn't sign until the very last moment and there was a lot of controversy about whether or not he would sign. When he finally did he was made captain and I often wondered whether that was a sop to get his signature. Can someone correct me if these facts are not quite as I outline.

 

Really? Hendrie has been excellent since he came back.

 

Not sure about excellent, I would say good more like and deserves a new contract for sure.

Now that Wednesday are consigned to another season in league 1, I could see that happening. Doubt they would have pursued their interest if they had been promoted to the Championship.

so some fans on here are taking it as gospel , how ROD was released according to his wife on twitter.
Yet he seems to have no issues.

I’d be surprised if he were a starter if he goes there, but they’re a massive club at any level so couldn’t begrudge him going there if an offer arrives and trying to fight for a first team spot. Like R O’D he’s always given 100% through a terrible period for the club.

 

Well surprise surprise, ROD didn’t say anything to substantiate what was posted on Twitter. Some will be disappointed. lol !

Sukiennicki seems a weird one. By all accounts he was a very promising youth prospect and had the trial at Hull. Feels like we should offered a contract just for the sell on potentially

 

Here’s what was put on Twitter by him Kev, to be fair he doesn’t say what his wife said isn’t true just that he doesn’t have a problem with it and there are good people at the club. I’m sure we’ve all had family who’ve got upset on our behalf with how we were treated and we’ve taken it as water off a ducks back I know I have. He’s probably more focused on finding new employment rather than a Twitter spat and who can blame him? Best of luck to him for the future anyway, always have his all even if not always good enough:

 

And on ROD he seems a lovely bloke (but sadly average keeper) and I believe when he signed his last contract mentioned buying a house in the area so hope he gets another contract not too far a commute and who knows maybe he’ll be involved with the club again in the future in a non playing capacity

All depends whose "version of the truth" you believe.

 

I just looked on his Twitter to get that quote and it says he lives in the Rotherham area, I believe he came through Sheffield Wednesdays academy. Maybe a team like Chesterfield may take a punt on him.

I'd argue he's easier to replace than Vernam and Watt. There's plenty of decent defenders around. There's far fewer creative, pacey players like Vernam or passing midfielders like Watt. Watt, or a player like him, will be vital to Hughes' playing style next season.
