The worry is, if Sparks resigns and Rupp stays in place then Sparks may as well turn the lights off on his way out. Sparks has shown his inexperience / naivety by making bold statements about promotions and jumping into bed with Darragh for intimate podcasts. When in truth all he's done is become a better salesman. His claims to building the infrastructure for success have failed to materialise. The head of recruitment gone within 12 months. The coaching improvements see us finishing lower than anytime in last 50+ years and physio department overseeing one of the worst injury/ recovery rates that I can remember.

What Sparks and Rupp fail to realise is that its not just the numbers you recruit but the quality of the people you put in those positions. Any change in ownership must include a change in CEO. Somebody Someone experienced AND successful AND proven is a must.

It’s going to difficult to trust anything Sparks says, both for us as fans but also sponsors and more importantly players and agents, i wonder if that already happened in jan window

I really don’t understand Rupp. If he wants to be an absent owner, and has little interest in the club beyond ensuring it doesn’t lose money, and he isn’t going to put money in to invest in growing the club, then surely the very least you’d expect from a businessman who’s made a 300m fortune is the nous to appoint a highly capable person to run the show for you, even if that means you have to pay an extra £100K a year to get an experienced, footballing CEO in. That’d be the one position you’d want someone at the helm who you KNOW is capable, rather than taking a punt on a young lad who only a couple of years ago was filling a fairly basic comms role. It’s bizarre. It’s doing more than anything to jeopardise his asset.

    Oh my, yes.

It's crazy, and I can't help but think it's based on duff advice from Rhodes.

It took Rhodes years to achieve success as chairman, and things only turned round when he received ample help from Mark Lawn.

Even Bryan Robson could not turn things round, we had to sink to new lows before the cavalry appeared in the board room and PP was brought in.

We're going down the same stupid and very long path now, refusing to bring in support in the board room so that we might give Hughes the very best chance.

But we've outlined this as fans enough times on here to know our cries are falling on dead ears - despite there being zero evidence Ryan or Stefan have any chance at all of doing a good job.

It boggles the mind to think how naive and stubborn these people are. 'No, it's okay, we can do it ourselves' - yeah, but can you??

If Hughes fails to get us promoted in the next couple of seasons, then Sparks will have been through four Manager's without success. At that point you've got to say the problems run far deeper than the Manager.

Rupp's wealth in 2020 was £110 million approx . nowhere near £300 million. That's assets not ready cash. One of those asset's is also Bradford city . a business he apparently propped up during covid.
Who knows, he may have had to do the same with his other business interests.
Yes the man is wildly wealthy beyond most . But only he and his advisors know his true financial position.
Its all irrelevant , as he seem's to have no desire to pump in any more of his cash .

9 managers and 3 caretaker managers since Rupp bought the club in 2016 should already tell you that the problems run far deeper than the manager

When Hughes first got presented as the next manager Sparks unprompted stated he will have "the tools required,be that in coaching/recruitment/sports science/medicine or any other area"
It is almost like Sparks himself knows, has figured it out finally- yet how is this to be funded?
This is key, the season ticket monies should be used to improve the squad with quality.
Apparently this season City had a top budget and yet this budget was cut.

@HUDDERSSBANTAM@HUDDERSSBANTAM -keep the link to the salarycap site as it may not be 100% accurate but will tell us how much City are spending on owning the moment

Mark Lawn joined Rhodes in 2007 and we endured five years of failure,so Lawn was hardly an instant success.
