Of course Covid nervousness is playing a big part in attendance dropping :joy::joy:

If we were where we aspired to be at the start of the season, or at least looking like we were heading in that direction, attendances would be over double what they have been recently.

News Flash - attendances don’t dictate league positions or results on the pitch. Our recent form (2 wins in 22/23?) is relegation form, and the way the club is/has been run is far worse than your FGR’s and your Harrogate’s. We are the closest we’ve ever been to non-league in terms of results on the pitch, playing staff, and club management at board level. There’s no dressing that up any other way no matter how many shandy’s you have on Christmas Eve.

Let’s hope that a post-Christmas miracle in January saves us from this rapid fall or we’ll be on the brink come March.

You’ll clean up at Bet365 with that Derby insight, I’d keep that sort of thing quiet if I were you, don’t want everyone piling on and ruining it.

    1. I sit in C block, Main Stand. There are many older long time supporters who haven't been attending matches all season. That is clearly due to Covid nervousness.

    2. Many people have been moderating their social contacts in December so as not to screw up Christmas plans. That includes avoiding large crowds like football matches. You are 29, so that may not apply to you, but it certainly does to others.

    3. Our form has been poor, so many supporters aren't currently motivated to go out in the crap weather to watch poor football. That's a temporary phenomenon. An upturn in performances would soon see crowds rise again.

    4. Yes, we are performing badly compared to the likes of Harrogate, FGR and Sutton. But our potential is massively higher than any of those clubs. An ambitious owner with a clear plan and a willingness to spend a bit of cash on controlled investment could take us to the Championship or even back to the PL. That's never happening with those clubs.

    5. It's highly unlikely we'll go down this season, given the state of Scunthorpe and Oldham. Obviously if we continue to decline next season then the unthinkable could happen. But to describe us - currently in midtable, with all our potential - as "effectively a non-league club" is, as @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler would put it, a hysterical overreaction.

On point 1, I hope it is nervousness, there are a few empty places at our local social club where the old boys and girls used to sit before Covid. Sadly it’s not nervousness that’s keeping them away. It was a bit sad finding out why they weren’t there.

I’m sure the potential is there, but you’ve got to ask apart from a few short spells in the last 100 years it’s not been achieved.

Well, that's Bradford City. But hey, we're all still here supporting them. Moaning, groaning and sick as pigs about the state of our club like we always have been. All of us suffer from PTBD - Post Traumatic Bantams Disorder. And it's really hard to shake.

Could he have done more damage than our present owner, from a club challenging for a Championship place to a club having to take the gamble of bring two rookies in to save us from the National League.

Still one of the best footy forum experiences ever. Shame @Interested Bystander@Interested Bystander wasn't on board then (was he?), he’d have been having a right laugh at the shenanigans that night.

No idea when that was, I joined C&A 20 August 2015 when Burke signed his first month loan
"He's gonna be shite, 19 too young, won't handle men's football" etc.

Tempus fugit old bean! I knew you came onboard following the Burke and Cullen signings but the whole Palladini take over reached an epic stage, played out live on the old C&B forum, complete with fan turning up at a pub in London with a copy of the day’s newspaper just to meet the potential new owner. It was absolutely priceless, I suppose I need to get out more but by Christ, there isn’t enough shady material on the internet to take over from that night online as the most rewarding session I have ever had online.

It’s certainly is nervousness. We are both triple jabbed, yet avoid crowded environments, avoid our village pub (sad) except by sitting in the pub garden. We look after ourselves by wearing face masks , without fail in any shop since the pandemic hit. We didn’t have the children and grandkids visiting for over a year. We ain’t throwing that in the bin easily, especially for football. It’s my choice…medically it has to be enforced. Clearly I’m not on my own looking at the stand on matchdays.
