    Oh it went better than ok.
    I drive to Bailiff now with a very nice Amazon voucher in my pocket and tomorrow off on full pay as a thank you from boss and big boss for all our efforts over the last 12 months.

    HMRC refund for last year had landed in the bank.

    However, they've also redone my tax code for this year in error, which means I'll end up short on the next 3 salaries by the same amount, and having to reclaim it again next year.

    Gallow's Pole's on my list after reading The Offing by him a couple of months ago. Young lad walks from Durham-ish to Whitby-ish in the 50s. Bit of nature, bit of culture, bit of food & wine.

    Today's walk was a Calderdale ramble as it happens.

    AND last week we went to Coin in Hebden Bridge which I have a feeling was named after the Cragg Vale Coiners.

    So, yes, I should read the Gallows Pole.

    Slight caveat to the Amazon voucher present.
    Boss ordered 8 for his team.8 received but order mistakenly duplicated following day.
    Boss rings to cancel 8 and gets refund but Amazon can’t tell him which 8 of the 16 received they’ve cancelled.
    Boss puts all 16 in a bag and gets the 8 blokes on his team to pick one out.
    Complete lucky dip if you’ve got a valid or invalid voucher.
