Either would be a statement of intent, and about the only thing that would show he has a plan to make this club the best it can be.

Theres a difference between paying money for something tangible, ie a ifollow pass or a shirt. But for something that is akin to having a certificate proving you own an image or something like that is very small. You could very easily just save the same image. The market in my opinion just isnt there.

 

A side product of this situation is the distrust, or whatever word you wish to choose, between Rupp and the club with its support base.

Whilst not comparable in magnitude, we have seen in politics in recent weeks, how distain and distrust can impregnate.

All this does show he does need to communicate much more regularly. As soon as you leave a void, thoughts go all over the place. Usually negative.

Indeed! Without knowing who the 'other' is, I have to vote for Rupp (and did). For a while I am unique...can I turn myself into an NFT and make myself a fortune?

Still my feeling is that Rupp has to up his game. Give me a better choice for 'other,' and my vote changes. We are in need of more actively involved ownership.

I am neither for Rupp or against him but the fact is he is no different from any owner. Let’s look back on first of all Lawn and Rhodes do you remember the dreaded deficit that was a daily topic on the old message board And GR it wasn’t all plain sailing with him when he was selling players mid season to balance the books. Then you look at Dave Simpson and the guy from Bingley Bob Martin before him.
None of these put their own money in they were run unsuccessfully on a break even budget or spend a little extra and claw it back if needed basis.
When we get a new owner unless he is a mad keen BC fan the club will be run on the same lines. So Far since Rahic left Rupp has been in charge in very turbulent times which off the field we seem to be navigating. It’s time for the clubs employees to deliver for a change just as Parky did for L&R and Kamala and Jewell did for GR. in the mean time we can wait for the Christmas fairy to deliver that white night charging to our rescue

He was treated rather rudely, and everybody seemed to want to score points on his postings.

Even when he said he was done with the forum, there were a lot of posts saying nothing was out of order, even though there were a ton of comments about how he was self-serving and trying to protect his position rather than give honest opinions.

I don't blame him for taking a break.

Everyone thinks they're being fair when they aren't.

 

Give over John, he wasn't unfairly treated. Bloke spat his dummy out and walked off. Doesn't help himself sometimes with his abrasive posting style.

 

I disagree. He rather hysterically suggested that there was hysteria on this forum. In fact, apart from a very small number of well known hotheads, what there mostly was was a lot of reasonable concern from sensible posters who see their beloved club steadily going down the toilet while its uninterested owner refuses to spend money to rectify the disaster that his ownership has created. Mr Owen, instead of engaging with that reasonable concern, then doubled down on his assertion that everything in the garden is rosy, and took his bat home when it was pointed out that he is badly out of touch with the views of most City fans, which he is.

 

I respect both of your opinions, but I disagree.

I think the point scoring aspect was real, and I think Roger was right about the hysteria.

Reacting to draws like they're 7-0 defeats is far more embarrassing than the draws themselves.

It's just frustration. This season isn't that bad, performance-wise, nobody is definitively better than us on a match-to-match basis, nobody is beating us easily, but our propensity to draw with everyone is annoying as hell.

But you can see the hysteria when we're drawing game after game after game and someone is saying how badly we're performing and predicting a 3-0 defeat in the next game - when it's CLEAR nobody is going to turn us over like that... that's hysteria, and that's something I've legitimately seen on this forum on more than one occasion.

Other than that, most posters and most comments are more level headed than that level of gibberish - but the baseless negativity is always right there, exaggerating and pretending we're bad when we're merely average.
