400 for a top 3 side and good football, is a fair price.

Agree with this and what @Faithful Bantam@Faithful Bantam said. I'm the sort of person @Petrov@Petrov is talking about. Perhaps, it's because of Rupp, that we are in a position to fly caution to the wind on potential investors. He's a complete waste of space, and the only thing we've heard him say recently, is a reactive statement to someone wanting to buy the club off him. Before that, I don't think he was EVER interested in us - he just got swindled by Rahic. He, possibly like these potential new investors, saw the possibility and success in a growing football team, and that's why he took the leap. Same as these guys. Same as they did when they took the leap in the crypto game. Proves they are risk takers, but also proves they are ahead of the game. If they've made a lot of money from crypto, then they'll know how to make a lot of money with risks elsewhere. And to get to that, they'll use data, analysis, forecasts, trend identifying, market movement and so on. I suspect, they'll use this to run the football club too. What I don't see, that they are chancers who will blindly think they know how to run a football club. They won't be fans of Bradford City like Lawn, who lets their heart rule their head. They won't be football experts like Rahic, who want to personally take control of the team. These guys, and their team, will be number crunchers. Fair enough, they do seem to have at the face of their operation, a few personalities who do seem to like the limelight, but they are no different from the other successful, rich, gung ho, slightly insecure personalities who grace social media today. I'm trying to ignore the "face" of this takeover, and focus on the back end who will be employed to get us results. And as mentioned, they aren't going to convert the club to a 100% one! Cash is still, and always will be king. I don't see any changes to that side of the football club. It's just that this deal will be funded by crypto - crypto which they have made from sound analysis, and crypto which Rupp will just convert into cash after the sale.

These guys definitely shouldn't be discounted just because they are using new technology to finance the deal. If it was Elon Musk coming in to buy us, I'm pretty sure everyone would be bending over backwards to welcome him to the club.

NFTs are simply contracts protected by the blockchain no amount of luddite think will stop that being the case. The idea that they plan on buying a club with hard earned crypto funds to then plan on taking us to the prem through sales of digital art is ridiculous. A group who profits off crypto seem like the type of people who understand how to generate capital. The suggestion that they are just speculators is obviously coming from a place of fear or ignorance.

I wouldn’t call you cynical. I would rather use the term concerned! Aren’t we all.
Remember’ ‘the Glazers would not put a cent into United, but would want fortunes out’. That comment was in the Guardian a few months ago.

The world is in a state of flux at the moment and things are changing.
Relying on traditional business models is no guarantee of future stability.
The metaverse, digital spaces, crypto etc is here to stay whether we like it or not.

I think this could be a unique opportunity for the club to get ahead of the curve.

Being the first 'crypto' professional football league club would generate publicity in itself.

The hostility seem to be coming from the usual suspects and their friends in the media.
People 'close to the club' who perhaps fear change or losing their seat at the table.

Some of the fans' initial enthusiasm has been thwarted by people with a platform in favour of the usual
fear mongering, pessimism and vested interests.

That's a great response to a comment from Park that was bang on the money as well, I'm certainly with you on the sustainable business model approach and becoming a fan led club would be great in my eyes.

However, football finances are screwed across the board so a sustainable model is probably capped at the bottom end of the Champ unless you're really lucky with a squad/manager out performing expectations or get a windfall from a homegrown Mbappe. On the other hand, throwing money at the problem will probably get you in to the Champ pretty quickly and if you've enough cash then you can compete with the billionaires at the top of the division vying to get in to the PL, the problem is that sooner or later that upward trajectory stops (it ALWAYS does in sport) and then the bills have to be paid which means having to find an even richer owner.

Those are really the only 2 options available and fans will argue until the cows come home about which is the best but in reality they both suck.

I am no fan of crypto when used as a currency; I'll leave that to drug smugglers, illegal arms dealers and other shadies who live in the black economy. However I sort of understand why some choose to 'invest' in crypto and love the adrenalin rush it provides. But I haven't seen any suggestion on here that the sale of the club will be in bitcoin or any other crypto. At one level, I couldn't give a toss as I posted back on page 39. How it's paid for is a matter between buyer and seller and is irrelevant to fans once it's gone through. In any event, the new poster on here who claims to be involved has already said that the transaction to buy the club will be conducted in pounds! He might be a charlatan, a con man or a genuine investor but at this stage, I'll take his comments at face value.

The notion however that sufficient City fans will invest in virtual memorabilia or virtual shares via NFTs to fund the club going forward is for the birds.

Risk yes, but Rupp being the business man he is, I'd be amazed if he doesn't already have some crypto in his portfolio

Should we go into non league we’re most likely finished, so about 8-9 places in the footballing pyramid until we’re out of business. It doesn’t get much worse!

I agree with a lot of that and am equally unhappy with how are club have fallen. In my opinion we wouldn’t need to be a basket case club to fall through the trap door. We came close enough last season. I’m also not looking for bank details of anyone, but hope those at the club do a better job of picking the next owner than the last lot did.
As far as it could be worse, any takeover is a gamble into the unknown but we need to move forward. Nobody knows these guys so you’ve got to err on the side of caution in my opinion. Make no bones about it, Rupp has to step up or sell out to a creditable buyer. He owes us that at least.
