He was always off his line, he was playing sweeper. The goal was just in front of us, I doubt he would have saved it if he had been on his line, unless he was stood at the far post leaving the rest of the goal open. Just a very good finish.

Law 11 from the FA site...

A defending player who leaves the field of play without the referee’s permission shall be considered to be on the goal line or touchline for the purposes of offside until the next stoppage in play or until the defending team has played the ball towards the halfway line and it is outside its penalty area. If the player left the field of play deliberately, the player must be cautioned when the ball is next out of play.

I've been critical of Gilliead this season but credit where it's due, I thought he had his best game for us yesterday, and have a feeling that was because Cooke wasn't on the pitch. I just don't think they compliment each other's game, and think we would be better rotating them and using either or going forward rather than having them both starting.
    Not going to happen though.

He played well, they all did, just leave it at that. Everyone's a FIFA coach.

You may be right, maybe all the midfield played better because Callum Cooke wasn't the focal point. That's for Del boy to work out.

Whilst were all happy this morning with a fantastic away win at the 3rd place we should wonder why it took so long for Mr Adams to realise 2 up top was the only way to go let's hope he doesn't revert back to type unnecessary points dropped in my opinion
Didn't see any players flagging after 65 mins (strange) maybe a less intensive training schedule
Robinson who scored a worldy is ,"no Angol" Cant wait for his return on that basis
Maybe our recruiting wasn't as bad as Mr Adams would have us believe but the way he himself set the team up to play has been the problem
Let's hope we don't return to type and push on from here
Yep I think he is very focused on his job which probably gives you that impression
Until/ IFF he gets us back to the Championship I will remain sceptical

Gillard also ran at them with the ball and at least one of their players was booked for hauling him down.

Penalty was a sympathy vote from a ref who generally had a good game.

It wasn't really two up top.

Spot on he played Robbo on, he went off then wandered back on as the ball came through

Semantics. We played two out and out strikers which gave us more goal threat. Also meant Cook wasn't isolated with two centre backs.

Spot on mate. We soaked up Swindon possession and looked very good when we had the ball.

The rules are clear, if a player steps off the pitch without refs permission he is deemed to be stood on the touch line in the case of offside. The official was absolutely correct to allow the goal. If this rule wasn’t in place as soon as a forward puts through a pass the defenders would all be jumping over the touch line to isolate the attacker.

Listening to that you'd think Derek had been reading the forum lol. Everyone's a football manger, CEO and owner.

Let's all say hi to Derek just in case. I'll start.

Hi Derek - great tactics and performance. Can we stick it to FGR next week please?

Great to wake up this morning and have the hangover of a well deserved 3 points. I still think that the lack of confidence has been a major problem for us. FGR will be a real litmus test but hopefully we can gain some forward momentum from here. Canavan's return is certainly a bonus. Well done the lads..gosh we needed that! People may think that one result can't paper over the cracks but right now,I'll take that.

And that's what happens when you shoot instead of fannying about and losing the ball by being crowded out.
Long may it continue, either from outside or inside the box.
