i think it's shite, I carry cash frequently and hate smart phones so don't have anything that has apple pay or whatever. I also think what I choose to spend money on is my business and nothing to do with a bank, but if we go cashless they will track every penny I spend and where it's spent. I've been largely supportive of everything Sparks has done at the club but this is his first misstep for me.

I agree with the cash mate, they want to track everyone's money and business, only way it can be done, is doing away with cash completely, I like my cash too much for that scenario, cheers

You had better chuck your smart phone in the beck then because they can even trace every J Arthur you have, every drive your make and every walk you take, so tracking your money is nothing.

Money is on its way out like it or not. I take a £5 for a tip for a meal, pay car park by cash and that’s it since March 2020 more or less.

Have they not considered youngsters who do not possess cards?. Kids who spend their pocket money with their mates buying pop and crisps.

Not just these kiosks, but we should all have the option to use cash or cards for any transaction at any shop in the world.

I'm thinking teenagers. I certainly didn't have debit and credit cards as a pre-school teenager

Who are you tipping a fiver? Do people really need tipping these days when most staff are pushing at least £8/£9 per hour and even if you do get a good waitress, your tip is still split between her and that lazy get in the corner

Dont quote me D, it was 1.5p in £ the retailer pays the bank.

It can be a tidy sum as big transactions add up?

£8-9 an hour is feck all, give over!

Waiting staff who are all on Nat min wage, it’s our village pub,( The community OWNS and runs it after saving it from going derelict after closure.)

I lovely little pub, great food great staff, and real ale. It needs our support. Oh and they do Saltaire brewery stuff now and again

Lazy get in the corner doesn’t apply thanks.

I've got a 13 and 11 year old and they both have a kids debit card. I put their spendies in every week. They can use it in shops or online. It's got ways for them to save towards goals. Grandparents can send them cash. They can earn extra money for chores if I set that up. It's a great introduction to banking and budgeting and they don't pester me for cash.

£9 per hour is feck all? Bloody hell, took me well into my 30's before I was earning that much and I'm only 41 now.

If it's a local pub, community owned and no one is making a profit , then maybe yeah in your example I'd drop a bit but anywhere else I don't bother. To me that just encourages these chains who may cynically only use NMW staff knowing they will have customers supplementing staff wages
