Are you seriously suggesting Adams doesnt know the expectations of our fans? You are so naive.

 

How many players have we brought in ? 6-7 ? Not convinced at all that we are any further forward from last seasons right off and the one before that and the one before that. All we seem to have done is reassemble Scunthorpe as Bradford ! and Scunny were fighting the drop all season. Certaintly to me we are at least 4 key players short of our non negotiable mission - auto promotion ? Unless Adams is the key ? and he can make the difference to an underwhelming ensemble ? Certainty look nowhere near Morecombe capabilities in that squad ?

 

Sometimes you can read too much into stuff but the article in the T&A introducing him said he was competition for Paudie, Canavan and Sikora. The others you have named (and I also thought about) were missing. That may mean they just weren't added in the article because it wasn't a quote or Adams seems them as left/right backs.

 

Mourinho has had a successful career but look what happens when the chairman (Levy) doesn't spend loads, it exposes him.
I get a feeling that could be the case here.
Far, far bigger spotlight on Adams now.

 

If songo comes in as expected then for me we are still 2 forwards short. The rest of the squad would have enough to cover. I do expect however 1 maybe 2 to leave.

 

I think going overboard on signings, whoever makes them, is best avoided, and by going overboard I mean both positively and negatively. There is so much inconsistency at this level that a player who on paper looks a good signing because they've just had a good season elsewhere can turn out to be awful for us, or another player who has poor stats and looks a disappointing signing can go on to become a fantastic player for us.
You only have to look back a few months to the the amount of fans on here and on Twitter proclaiming it the best January window ever but was it, really?
We signed 5 permanent players in that window. One of them left within a few weeks, Vernham and Crankshaw have been disappointing so far, Foulds hasn't really featured yet so we have no idea whether he is a good signing or not, so the only one out of the 5 that seemed to strengthen us was Canavan.
We also brought in 4 players on loan. Huffer was emergency cover due to Rod's injury and was always unlikely to end up playing, Stevens did alright in the few sub appearances he made but nothing more than that, and did Burrell even play for us? If he did I can't remember so that says it all really. So, out of the 4 loans brought in only Cook actually improved us. That's a total of 2 players out of 9 brought in - not really the best January window ever at all was it?
For those that think I'm being negative, I'm not. There is still a chance Vernham, Crankshaw and Foulds could end up being decent players for us but right now, we don't know, just like we don't know how our new summer additions will fair. So I'm not going to build any of them up or slag any of them off until I've seen what they can do for us and how they perform under Adams. People that think that's being negative need to as Fordy would say, 'give their head a shake'.

 

Ain't it just. His previous records in all honesty are good but no guarantee that yesteryears success will equate here at VP.
I'm still puzzled, how, despite, his record of 4 promotions in 14 years, he has yet to move up the football pyramid and still finds himself in the basement league

 

Lets wait and see how they all gel. Sum of the parts and all that. No point getting in 11 Bell tent signings who can't work together. Remember no one had heard of John Hendrie and Greg Abbott (or Martin Singleton) when we picked them up from Coventry reserves

See fans have to be honest with themselves and admit this squad isn’t good enough to get us up at this stage.

How many managers have had a great season in league 2 and then been snapped up by a championship club and failed miserably. Adams managed Plymouth in league1 for 2 seasons so has had the experience of that and maybe he's now found a club that he wants to stay and move up the leagues. His experience of league 1 will help us establish ourselves in that league if we get promoted and will have a decent budget , whereas he knew that if he stayed at Morecambe he wouldn't have much chance of keeping them up so left for a club that would if he gets us up. Football management is the same as any management job and you gain experience and choose when to go for a higher position to enhance your career.

 

Did Adam’s get big money backing from his chairman at his previous clubs? I thought Morecambe was a bit of a misfit team pulled together on the cheap (and then suprised everyone)? No idea about Plymouth’s finances.

 

How has Adams made himself liable for exposure…..he’s spent nothing if you are comparing him with Tottenham , he spent nothing at Morecambe either. So…….?

Scottish Premier , probably equates to our lower CC level so , maybe not as low level basement football we are suggesting?

 

They WERE good times once they gelled.

 

You cant honestly believe we beat off Sunderland and Blackpool to sign him.

I understand the desire to give every player a fair chance, and in reality even if fans are whinging about a signing from the off, only Adams can give them that opportunity.

It feels like on this forum at the moment a poster giving an honest appraisal of a signing (in their view) is being treated as an attack on the club, our manager and our transfer policy.

It's not.

 

For our level and standard, I'm happy with the appointment of Mr Adams and you are correct, unanswerable question.

Alone, Adams is not the solution to the regression at Bradford City.

 

He has no part in where we are today. I think he should do well, the fact he’s no ambition to be “ one of the lads” , like Stuart and our duo tried to be.
