Enjoyed this thread but I’m backing off My mate Bob Dylan told me The times they are a changing so true. Visiting VP yesterday Coors vans parked outside Carling Darling being promoted. Club shop empty Midland Road needing a tidying up gates rusted quit glum. We all have different tastes of ales etc . I’m sure a lot enjoyed The Duchess, Fighting *@?$, Haighys and many other joints. I’m looking at a pre season cruise with Jayne McDonald maybe pop into TallinnBantams Bar .

Carling or Carling Black Label as it used to be called when it came under Bass Charringtons is better than the Carlsberg that was served up. Now Carlesberg Export, that's the real deal. Just like Carling Premier is a step up normal Carling

 

I don't think I know anybody who buys Carling.

 

Fair enough.

When I was at Bradford Uni in the early 80s they used to sometimes show up at the Commie Bar discos or gigs. One Friday night my student housemates and I showed up for a gig after several early evening beers, probably in the Fleece or the Westfield. My mate Tim was fairly pissed and kicked over one of the Slaves' bikes that was parked on the concourse outside the Commie. The following week they turned up again and trashed the bar.

 

The liquid equivalent of turkey twizzlers is Britain's favourite beer. How utterly depressing.

Carling, Coors light? I don't beLEEEVe it.

Most sold in 2017 does not mean the same as nation's favourite. This is very disappointing negative progress. Maybe I have to reconsider renewing in the suites.

I am used to a small quantity of strong, tasty beers pre-match, not pints and pints of angel's pee sending you off for a leak all the time.

2 or 3 Westmalle tripels for me.

 

Be careful out there, they are still a presence and some of the early lot have now got parole.

 

Nowt wrong with 8 pints,2 vodkas and a good curry at the end, Proper English night out
