Colleague at work is a Sunderland season ticket holder and is far from impressed with Johnson. Like T&S he did get off to good start but now is baffling fans with his stubbornness about tactics and poor substitutions, again like T&S

I can only go on facts. Higher in the table now than when Parkinson left.

How many Bristol City fans do you know, Roger? There are some City fans think T&S are doing a good job. As I said in another reply, I can only go on facts not what some faceless "fans" are alleged to think. Lee Johnson was the longest serving Championship manager when he left Bristol City.

If he's "always the bridesmaid", what does that make the appointees to the City manager/position, over the past few years? "Always the loser(s)", I suggest.

One of these days @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler will admit Bradford City are failing badly! This season has been a disgrace. Total failure by everyone connected with the club barring the fans.

When you look at Sunderland. 4th in the league and looking like it will be the play offs. However, Hull just been relegated, Peterborough reacted like a club determined to go up automatically considering they finished outside the play offs last season. Then bloody Lincoln who are a shock to be up there.

I think Sunderland will take finishing 4th and fancy their chances in the play offs. Only Portsmouth to really worry about.

By that logic T & S have done better with us than Parky did when he came in, happy days...

Think there’s a bit more to it than that, also as I said Parkinson had a better win rate than Johnson. Not that it matters.

Playoffs are a lottery, their fans demanded autos which is fair enough with their budget and club size. They blew the autos and are in the worst form in the top half, believe me their fans aren’t confident or happy. Either are ours. Well except one maybe.

Totally agree @Fordy117@Fordy117! I've been watching City for decades but can't stomach the current tactics and lack of ambition. I honestly don't know where the club goes from here and I'm not too sure that those associated with it do either. We don't have the nucleus of a team that will advance this club next year. That means more wholesale changes in the summer, with more miss than hit in recruitment. Then there's the team management situation......

Interesting, though, to have a look at Phil Parkinson's record in that first season (2011/12) he was here. His 41 league matches produced 11 wins, 13 draws and 17 defeats, a win percentage of 26.8% and a points per match of 1.122.

Phil Parkinson's January 2012 signings were:
    Permanent
    Rob Kozluk (from Port Vale)
Ricky Ravenhill (from Notts County, after being on loan previously)
    Matt Fry (from West Ham)
    Loan
    Charlie Taylor (Leeds United)
    Andy Howarth (Bury)
    Deane Smalley (Oxford United)
    Will Atkinson (Hull City)

Of which only Atkinson (the league two Messi) and Ravenhill went on to feature in 12/13. Interesting comparison.

Sunderlands would have expected automatic but when you break it down like I have you can accept Hull and Peterborough above them. Plays are a lottery but they will fancy their chances.

Bradford City can't accept being in the bottom half of div 2 and spent most of the season there. It's unacceptable!

It doesn't answer the questions about Trueman & Sellars, but it does show how bad an ultimately very succesful manager can be at first.

100% agree, problem is with many fans is their view on the season is clouded by the fact that we were so close to relegation (not that I personally think that was ever going to happen) that they see been currently mid table as a sucess. Shambles really, I can't believe people can vote for anything above a 1 on the Rate our season out of 5 thread.

I know a few, just as keen on their club as you and I are on ours, I have family in Bristol and until recently my God Daughter was involved with both Rovers and Bristol RUFC who are owned by the Bristol C owner so I think I have some knowledge which agrees with some of their fans.
As far as Sunderland I think they were 7/8 th when PP left and as said above they are the team in the poorest form currently which may underline my comments on Johnson, we shall see.
As to the comments of you and Fordy, no, of course I'm not happy with where we are, who is?, sadly in 65+ years of support, apart from 5 or 6 we have always been what you and Fordy say 'a failing club'. Sadly that is a reflection of our City as a whole, low income, poor infrastructure, etc., etc. Which will only be remedied by massive investment in City and Club. Stefan has done more than most people know to keep us afloat but we need a Sunderland level of worth as owner or another two of Stefan's worth. If you know them get them involved.
I know a few either with connections or direct and Bradford is not on their radar so we have to be realistic, back Ryan and Stefan, things are and will change hopefully for a lot better. I know the flak I've had for saying 5 years to get Rahic out of our blood but it's true in my opinion. That doesn't stop us getting on with improving and I'm sure we will.

Thanks for your reply. I remember you stood in the Paddock, with your dad, all those years ago and know you'll share our frustration! Unfortuately, on the pitch we still aren't faring any better.

Some good points about Bradford as a club and as a City, the place is in terminal decline and both sporting clubs of the City are testament to that decline. I worry about the long term future of this club as the demographic changes, and with a city 10 miles down the road continually expanding and its football club looking more and more like a permanent premiership club little old Bradford looks more and more like the runt of the family. Oh well, at least the football is cheap.
