I think you will find that he was the Chairman of Bradford City 1988/1990 but sold the club. He will now be about 85 years old, so perhaps past the time he would take on the club. His children/grandchildren, as far as I am aware have little/no interest in Bradford City, being more focussed on motor racing (a bit like Stefan Rupp there). https://samtordoffracing.com/ .

I'm told he is in a nursing home with dementia so I don't think there will be any interest coming from the Tordoff family, unfortunately.

A couple of seasons ago he attended most home games Jack sat several rows behind us, but I noticed he was attending very few in season 2019/20 and found out he was not too good.

I did wonder what had happened, after he had that somewhat bizarre car crash in 2018. Given his history of rally car driving, it did seem totally out of character. There was nothing in the press to suggest there was a police investigation, say in respect of dangerous driving. Jack being a high profile individual and probably a newsworthy subject, then the silence was suggestive of something behind the scenes. Very sad, I have seen at first hand what this can do to people.

A terrible condition for all parties involved they are in a world of their own not knowing who you are although you look familiar as was the case with mum although she could recognise us as her young boys from years ago,, and mum was not the person we'd known in our case for over 70 years.

    So within a week.

FSG (Liverpool owners) sold 10% of their share for over 500m
    Wigan been brought.
    Derby been brought
    Ipswich been brought

:joy: @Mike Hunt@Mike Hunt @Park bantam@Park bantam no one investing in football clubs.

I wouldn't be shocked if we are not in talks to be sold or getting investment.

Not wanting to be picky but

FSG have swapped minority ownership of Liverpool for minority ownership in FSG. The three that have now got 10% ownership of FSG had minority stakes in Liverpool, which after the deal they will not have. FSG will own the club outright with the three having minority ownership of the combined FSG.

Wigan has been bought from the administrators

Derby have still got to go through all the new owner checks, as previous purchaser withdrew the other week

Ipswich, can not find details anywhere if the owners have passed the checks etc

Poor jack I was watching him reversing his very expensive red Porche into the wall in the car park behind the main stand about 3 years ago

FSG was still a 500m investment.

Wigan was brought for 3m not a pound.

    Derby takeover going through.

    Ipswich has been sold.

    Sunderland taken over.

Look only people that stand still think deals are not happening because they are safe. Not everyone is safe! As I say, it wouldn't shock me if we are sold or have investment soon.

was the FSG deal a £500m investment or a movement of the investment from Liverpool FC to FSG.

will the Derby takeover go through? Only time will tell, they were confident the previous deal would go through but it didn’t.

That included the ground and training facilities didn’t it? So the club went for nothing and the property cost £3m.

The lease is up on the ground relatively soon and we need to play hardball. The Gibb family pension fund have had a wonderful golden egg there for 25 years. One initial payment then a guaranteed income as long as City are solvent. Not too shabby for them considering that they don't have to pay any upkeep on their asset at all.

I'd be pushing to negotiate a deal whereby we get the ground back for free at the end of the tenancy or we'll simply move out and leave them with a very expensive problem to solve.

Of course that means having a viable alternative planned so they know we're serious. Then a negotiation can happen and we buy the ground back for a nominal fee, perhaps 1 or 2 year's rent.

Sparks isn't a fanny like Rhodes so he might actually get some proactive movement going forward.

The only viable alternative option is moving into Odsal, so I reckon the Pension Fund will have the upper hand in negotiations. There is no way on earth will they hand over ownership of Valley Parade for nothing.

The pension fund has a legal duty to obtain the best price it can for any asset it sells, If we were to buy the price would be set after 2 independent valuations had determined its value

Until I hear Sparks playing the game and talking about maybe moving away from VP then we won't know what he is like.

As I say we have two years to sort alternatives out really and put Gibbs in a corner.

I'd suggest it's not the Flaming Pension Fund that's in a corner, do you think telling them we will go elsewhere will worry them it taken Everton around 5 years to sort the right area for a new 50 000+ stadium Gordon Gibb is no bodies fool he will be aware of the situation at Valley Parade.
