    Tried to view an article on City today but couldn’t because they were asking for a subscription of £2 for 2 months then £4.99 a month after that.

    Who on earth is going to pay that ?

    I think so. I got a message a couple of days back saying I'd reached my limit of premium articles.

    The website is just full of click-bait these days, I don’t make a habit of reading it like I used to. It’s dying a long old painful death, shame really.

    That used to work when there was a (longer) limit on all articles. But now they have introduced the 'premium' articles, it doesn't.

    Some unscrupulous people who wanted to circumnavigate the T&As systems might do something like disabling javascript in their browser, just to save having to subscribe to the premium content.

    Depends on your browser. So I'm told.

    If I was going to do it I'd google 'disabling javascript in chrome' (change browser as appropriate); there are plenty of tutorials on youtube as well. It is a relatively straightforward process, but if you are unsure about messing around with your usual browser you could have a different browser (with javascript disabled) just for those occasions when you need it.

    Javascript is useful for making websites user friendly, but it also comes with issues/risks. A straightforward search will bring up plenty of articles on the merits or otherwise of having javascript permanently enabled or permanently disabled or switching it on or off as required.

    When I go into Google's Incognito mode and select T&A/Bantams it brings up the full list of articles, but when I click any marked 'Premium' it says 'This article is available to subscribers only' and invites me to subscribe.
