That would be the same lad who conned the pen, the same lad who left his foot in twice and chased the ref over a decision before being finally told to cool it. 15 minutes too late but he did drop out of the game later so maybe the Ref did have some impact.

 

If you say so. Cheating is now unfortunately an intrinsic part of todays game. I hate it and assume you do also. Diving/falling/collapsing in the penalty area is promoted upon the merest touch. Doesn't make it a foul.

 

Hard to tell how they will develop, we all thought Danny Devine looked the real deal after 10 or so games in league 1, can't get a game at Carlisle now. But then Omari Patrick is having a great season after being written off here.

 

I don't like diving but that wasn't a dive or a fall. O'Connor was at fault, not the striker, not the referee, not little Moe with the gimpy leg. Put your hands around a player in the box like that and you are asking for trouble. It didn't cost us in the end, these things happen in football. We didn't play well but we won.

 

It was a penalty, time to move on.

 

Oh come on-he fell in stages. Yes AOC has hands on but he fell to the ground like he had been snipered from the stands. Cheating. But its part of the game . Was a good win on the back of a tough week. Glad this cheating didn't cost us.

Yes they were physical, so what? Do you remember PP's teams? I don't recall us being all precious when McCardle and Davies were putting attackers over the stands or big Jim was taking defenders heads off with a well placed elbow.

It's league two, if you're upset by getting kicked then you're probably not fit for the division.

 

And had it been the other way round? Yeah you'd have been livid if it wasn't given. They had a good shout for a pen second half and didn't get it. Ref gave us some leeway today.

 

TBH I find any sort of cheating wrong. Disagree there was any pen shout second half-just a good tussle between two players. The ref gave us no leeway and was average at best. We are moving up the table DESPITE these challenges. Long may it continue.

 

What challenges. Southend and Barrow??

No, he's talking about those dastardly attackers being all sneaky and going to ground when AOC had only both his hands all the way around him.

 

Define what is cheating? What about when a player brings down a player in full flow like Watt did the other night? 'taking one for the team' gets mentioned but thats cheating. When we take the ball to the corner and waste time? is that cheating? Going down in the penalty box because the defender has his arms all over you so you can't turn him to get a shot off? Is that cheating?

 

Pretty stupid stance really, condoning people being injured because its only league 2.

 

Maybe those directors box seats are a bit too far away for you. It looked a stone wall penalty on TV. AOC was clumsy and that’s being kind

 

Barrow had shown something of a mini revival under their new manager, and they've brought in some decent players including Ollie Banks and Tom Davies.

It's not easy beating teams who hit good patches; Cambridge United are top of the table, played us twice at the wrong time, and took only one point.

Tranmere are fifth, and we beat them away.

We haven't simply relied on picking off the worst or most out of form teams.

 

The thinking must be if we as fans with numerous replays, a number of hours to digest cannot be conclusive then it shows the difficulties for a referee. Instant decision, no replays....

It's amazing how we are in the lower half of div 2 when the club is so perfect!

 

Don't be stupid about this. Cheating is different from taking one for the team-that's a professional foul and is widely accepted as being as such. That is not trying to deceive the referee as you well, know.

No it isn't, its a form of cheating, knowing full well your breaking the rules to deny a clear run at goal. How can it be cheating when a player has his arms all over you, illegally denying the player a chance to turn and shoot in the box. I know if that had been our striker in the opposition box i'd be screaming at him to go down.
