Who says Novak is out for the season? T&A said he is doubtful for tomorrow. That doesn't sound like a long term injury.
Do you know differently? If so, how?

 

I've heard the same myself, a couple of days ago. I'm hoping it's nonsense as it'd be a big blow to lose him just as we seem to have strengthened.

 

Who’s watching today then? I personally think we will be rusty against an in form team who have played 6 times already this year, might not be a pretty watch.

Plenty to fight for, a draw would certainly be a credible result taking everything into account of late.

We've apparently played a couple of behind closed doors games in the last couple of weeks so hopefully that will have helped avoid too much rust, and a few of the new lads have played games recently so if they feature they should be quite fresh. However, I do feel quite nervous about today, given what happened the last time we had a lengthy layoff in January after a good December. Hopefully we won't see history repeating itself.

 

I will admit I’m watching for Rowe only, really like the look of him and with these two new managers I feel like they tell the players to play with no fear. Something we have been crying out for since the Parky days.

 

Personally, I'd shuffle AOC across to right back instead of FCD then drop AOC when Hosannah is back eventually (unless form dictates massively otherwise).

 

I'd leave as is, AOC has been our most consistent centre back. Canavan has to earn the right to spilt a defence that has conceded 2 in 5.

 

I feel Canavan has been performing well at a higher level and AOC is a better right back than FCD (and personally I think Paudie has been the better of the two in recent games and this season overall), so I'd just be looking to put the best possible defence out. Add to that FCD has looked like our weakest link in our recent good performances, though it does seem to be early in games and he tends to grow in to them.

However, I have no qualms whatsoever if he keeps the same team for exactly the reasons you state

 

Don’t know if anyone’s mentioned it but good news for us is Harry Darling has gone to Mk dons. Looked a good defender for them

 

Who we having to replace Pritchard then? Obvious choice is Evans (hopefully he's built up some fitness over the last month because he's looked miles off the pace so far), though Burrell and Stevens are presumably options there

 

Saw that last night and the twitter outrage from their fans was similar to the reaction from Oldham fans about Rowe.

 

Think Stevens will get the nod.

 

Thats fair comment, there has been games where its been a learning curve for FCD and i agree, at this stage he doesn't look as good a right back as O'Connor or Hosannah. You would think that Canavan would play some part as having a player dropping a division should bolster us.

 

He is a right winger I don’t think we have a naturally left footed midfielder I think Evans will play there today

Liked the balance in the team with Pritchard on the left, meant we could naturally stretch across the park. A right footer will probably always be looking to cut in unfortunately.

 

No chance of a frozen pitch is there. I bought an I follow pass for Scunthorpe and literally five minutes later it was cancelled

 

My mistake. Think I agree with Botswana though that Clarke will play on the left rather than Evans.

 

Have we had any confirmation from the club of Novak being out long term or is it all smoke and mirrors ?
